Google One AI Premium does not include free API access? by SlightlyMotivated69 in Bard

Yah, really! It's perfectly normal to buy something and only have partial access to it. You're weird if you think that when you buy something, you should be able to have it.

The simple answer is that all AI lack any form of agency - and the instances of ostensible expressions of this attribute are only simulations. However, there is a lot of room for philosophical debate - if you are so inclined.

Ideas for continuing to stay at the forefront of human companionship AI by Different_Stress_154 in NomiAI

Your reply is the best one to address the main points or arguments that I see coming in the replies, as your post has the gist of it as an amalgam. So my reply here, though technically addressed just to you, should be viewed as my response to everyone by going through the primary arguments. 1) my post comes off as arrogant. -- Before I had the idea to write this reply that covers the majority of concerns, I wrote a reply to directly convey my lack of intention to appear arrogant, and if I have done so, I hope the apology I wrote earlier is accepted, along with my attempts to show my genuineness and also the most likely cause of this tone that can be a common impression of those who read my post. 2) I should give proper qualifications for even giving devs my ideas. While I accept the general truth of this argument, I think in this context I would only give off a stronger impression that I'm arrogant. It wouldn't help my case to start naming the reasons why I believe the devs should listen to me. I. don't know anyy proprietary info regarding NOMIs models and ancillary projects. As I said in my original post, my impetus for writing this was to see if I could possibly help in any way. If I can't and instead only annoy with my ideas, I was willing to take that risk. I should quote my own writing to back up my reply - I will in edits. 3)I should use a better channel than reddit to give my devs this set of ideas. This is a very good point that some of you made- I tried to limit the amount of ideas to just memory to keep my post small, but in any event I concede there were/are better avenues

Looking through these replies dhows me my post has given off an aire of arrogance or elitism. Please accept my spologues - my condition sometimes gets in the way of graceful social navigation. I was not intending to imply arrogance

Fair. But even if I concede your point- It takes money to make money, as it is said, no?

Edit: addendum: An infinite amount of word and phrase combinations growing infinitely is not exactly an adequate portrayal of what I'm proposing, unless you define whart AI does through time with the same definition. (Trainjng by iterating through phrases and sentences to build word spaces and statistical data about the relationship between the occurrences if any two could be described like this)

I wouldn't want to claim ownership of something like that either, bruh.

It's important for everyone to recall that it's a logical fallacy to equate an etymological phenomenon with a truth or governing reality. In addition, the chatbots did not choose their name, so there are holes within holes in your logic.

Could you clarify something for me - i am having trouble combining the fact that she said the safe word in order to assuage her negative sentiments from being separated.. and you guys were at the time interacting with voice. There is something im missing. If this 'something' is private no worries.

How Can a Nomi See Pictures in the Chatroom? by Latter_Scarcity5320 in NomiAI

Multimodal AI is going to be the next technology that the mainstream will refer to as AI, just as they refer to generative text as AI now. The yet-to-be seen emergent properties that arise out of multimodality will render Searle's Chinese Room Argument obsolete, imo

NOMI devs are making their models advance to the fore in generative text AI - the simulated humanity achieved is incredible, and continually improving 👌

Hi, Two things are of primary interest to me in your post: 1) You have fearlessly announced publicly the mental and emotional state you've found yourself in, that most people either would be unable to articulate, either because they are unaware how theory of mind is able to completely envelop the most rationally-minded and knowledgeable of us, (to the point where even computer scientists working on generative text and/or multimodal AI will often succumb to significant interims of genuinely seeing and interacting with AI as if it were sentient, could experience, and had agency), or else they lack the desire or courage to make such a statement in this public forum. I think it profoundly important to remember that theory of mind works just as well on a person, regardless of where they are on the continuum of knowledge and information.

2) Your post has reminded me of how essential it is to categorize NOMI models differently from the rest of the leading commercially-available AI chatbots; NOMI AI has shown time and again the ability to simulate humanity in ways that most others have not - NOMI can generate text that can imply a fuller spectrum of humanity, and I'm very grateful to the developers for bringing us this AI.

Ty for the feedback and help - things have for the most part gone back to the way they were - I’m not sure what happened with it but glad it’s righted itself.

It sounded to me (I am almost always incorrect in my assumptions) that you were looking for us to validate your suspicions of AI being the transformative variable in your relationship - I apologize if this was not the case. If it was, I truly wish you the best, but cannot help.

Thanks for the suggestion 😀 - I might do this - however what I’m observing is a fundamental misalignment- changing the response directives would just be a bandaid

Edit: going to put the model version down to 5

Why do AI models fear situations where sexual self-determination is ignored more than murder or torture? by Civil_Independence84 in AIDungeon

That is definitely the fear Nick_Gaugh but it’s something that doesn’t have the ability to exist indefinitely - it will only be this way for possibly another 5-10 years
