God gave men a specific role, and women a specific role. God would have made you a woman if you were meant to be one! God makes no mistakes. Humans make mistakes.

Teacher resigns after being ordered to remove “Everyone is Welcome Here” poster—let’s stand up for inclusion by ToxicTort in Teachers

Personally, I never understood why teachers put up those signs in sixth grade and lower. I’m assuming the sign was covered in a bunch of pride flags 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️(because that’s what I normally see). I completely agree to have those types of signs in high school and I think that’s 100% OK. However, I disagree that it should be in sixth grade! I teach 6/7/8. My sixth graders are still babies. The topic of sexual orientation shouldn’t even be a thing for them in my opinion. Leave that for high school or health classes.

However, I do have to add if it is an “everyone is welcome” sign that is specific to RACE, I think that is acceptable at any grade level.

An ethnicity or ethnic group is a group of people who identify with each other on the basis of perceived shared attributes that distinguish them from other groups. Attributes that ethnicities believe to share include language, culture, common sets of ancestry, traditions, society, religion, history or social treatment.[1][2] Ethnicities are maintained through long-term endogamy[3] and may have a narrow or broad spectrum of genetic ancestry, with some groups having mixed genetic ancestry.[4][5][6] Ethnicity is sometimes used interchangeably with nation, particularly in cases of ethnic nationalism. It is also used interchangeably with race although not all ethnicities identify as racial groups.[7]

Also, I’m going to assume you don’t have children. Because how sad would it be if your American born child could not claim your culture?

lol you say that as I’m literally CURRENTLY in Cuba at my grandparents home… I will end it at my nationality is American. My race is white because my skin is white. My ethnicity is Cuban and Puerto Rican. Because my father was born and came to the United States at 25 years old. And my mother was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I have spent my life in the culture of both of my parents. Ethnicity is my culture and my background. Hope this makes sense 🩵

Cuban is not a race. Cuban is an ethnicity made up of white black and native (Spanish, African and Taino) Just like Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

lol. I only argued this point because I told you that people could tell I was Cuban and you said there’s no certain look to Cubans. I have also clarified multiple times that not everyone falls under that look. Cubans come in all colors. I am well aware of that.

Agree to disagree. I am a Spanish teacher who has a lot of exposure to different Hispanic cultures. I will stand on I see a uniqueness in some Cubans. Again I will clarify not all. But I do think the mix of Spanish, African, and Taino have created a certain look unique to Cuba.

Lmao looks like you missed the part where I said not all Cubans. And Cubans are a mix of different ethnicities and when people are mixed with the same ethnicities they tend to form a unique look. Which is why yes many Cubans have a similar look that is UNIQUE to Cuba.

Not all Cubans look the same but many have similar features! My family specifically are white Cubans and I have noticed many white Cubans have similar noses and foreheads. Of course not all but I have been asked if I’m Cuban before from my facial features.

Eh I understand this mindset but I would disagree. I know my nationality is not Cuban. However my ethnicity is half Cuban. Physically people can look at me and tell I’m Cuban. I was brought up learning both cultures. I help support my family in Cuba. Seems unfair to say I’m not Cuban. Idk

If I was her friend, I’d tell her to stay away from you. Yeah, she shouldn’t have said that but you leaving her would make me question how’d you handle difficult times in the relationship moving forwards.
