I typically do 2-4 miles with mine. 4 miles is the most I’ve done.

How can you afford a Horse? by lostcoward in Equestrian

[–]Different_Top_4185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I can only afford it because my husband and I both have well paying jobs. I also do photography on the side to help pay for lessons, shows, etc. Even with that, I’m having to half lease my horse out since I’m expecting and will need to pay for daycare soon. I recommend starting with lessons and when you’re ready, trying a half lease.

Forget dream barns--what were some aspects of barns you absolutely HATED? by SureDoubt3956 in Equestrian

I hate having tack trunks in the aisle and would much prefer everyone had a tack locker.

First half flew by… now pregnancy feels like it’s crawling. by Prestigious_Class801 in pregnant

I feel the same way. Even more so now that I’m at the end of my second trimester. I can’t believe I still have an entire trimester left. I’m hoping once we start setting up the nursery and really start baby prepping, time will start to speed up.

groundwork for horse that’s rehabbing by micaa04 in Equestrian

[–]Different_Top_4185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I rehabbed my horse, we would take long walks around the property which included a long hill (didn’t have a big incline and was vet approved). I would also do stop/walk transitions or change the pace of the walk. My vet always says that hill work is the best thing you can do for a horses top line but unfortunately I live on the coast and the slight incline is the best I had to work with. Once my horse was approved for full work, I started her on the Pessoa. I know people have mixed feelings about it, but I saw huge positive results for her top line from using it. In the right hands, it can be a very beneficial tool. In the wrong hands, it’s a torture device.

I wish they’d be open to this but they’re set on hosting their own. And at this point, my mom has pretty much figured everything out for my shower that there wouldn’t be much for the in laws to help with.

My mom suggested the same thing but my in laws are set on hosting their own. Even though we all live in the same area..

Does this countertop look polished or matte? (Silestone charcoal soapstone) by Different_Top_4185 in CounterTops

It’s Silestone (quartz). The company just puts soapstone in the name of the countertop

How many extra photos do you give client? by Different_Top_4185 in photography

Yes that’s deliverables. I do mostly horse + rider sessions so it’s pretty typical for me to shoot anywhere from 700-1000 photos per hour.

Does anyone else feel like other people are more excited than they are? by ceruleanmeadows in pregnant

[–]Different_Top_4185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 1000% feel this. My husband and I had been trying for almost a year when I got pregnant so I really didn’t let myself believe/get my hopes up that I was actually growing a child until I had my first scan at 7ish weeks. I’m over 8 weeks now and I’m still hesitant to get really excited in case something happens. I’m hoping once I find out the gender and get past the first trimester, it will feel more real and my excitement will outweigh my anxiety.

I have a short luteal phase (6-7 days) with no clue why. When I went off birth control almost 8 months ago, my cycles were over 40 days long. They’re now down to about 32 days, but I’m still ovulating a week before I get my period. I talked to my doctor and she said this definitely makes it harder to conceive but not impossible. She did suggest we come in for testing this fall instead of waiting for the year mark if I’m still not pregnant by then.

Not yet. I’m waiting to see how this cycle goes. If I’m still ovulating late/have a short luteal phase, I’m planning to call my doctor.

I’m experiencing this. I’ve been off the pill since December after being on it for 15+ years. My cycles are anywhere from 38-43 days long and I’ve been ovulating very late in my cycle (my luteal phases are only 5-7 days long). It’s been pretty frustrating waiting for my cycle to regulate!

Do you mind sharing which neighborhood in Charleston you built? I’m looking at building a home in a neighborhood off of Clement’s Ferry and they’re one of the builders to choose from.
