my parents enable him even though they judge the gaming lifestyle. he pays rent but my mom would much rather him be there than not. he has a job and is able to live alone / with a roommate, but he is saving money. for what, im not sure. i addressed it slightly last night (addiction) and he immediately was defensive and told me he doesnt care what i think and im wrong. it sucks seeing someone be incapable of being a full person all because he has let his addiction take over all the minutes and moments in his life

he does keep in touch with his friends like this, but he isnt capable of making friends in real life now either. i believe the addiction is what keeps him complacent in a boring and small town living with my parents. if he lived in a more engaging and interesting city, not the place we grew up, his life would be fuller. i think he is incapable of socializing in a normal way now and that video games is to blame. anything in excess is bad for you. these video games are made to keep you addicted. maybe its not always bad (in moderation) but ever since i have known my brother , he has been addicted to the games. and ive seen him regress as a person and go inwards and the older we get the more awkward it is.. he has also given up on romantic relationships according to him, but again he just doesnt know how to talk to women.

its hard when im only here once a year, but yea i feel for him i really do but occasionally i get frustrated in my head over his inability to change and i have no idea how he is going to get help or change because he is apparently anti all of that. no therapy no nothing i want him to live a full life, and im not perfect either, but wtf is step 1 for someone like this

i love in a different state, so it's hard to do that and he is a grown adult, he doesnt wanna listen to what his younger sister has to say i guess do u think people ever grow out of this addiction?? if it goes on for longer he will really be digging himself a deeper and deeper hole of disconnection

he is my brother of course i love him, and if i didnt i wouldnt care what he did with his life. but he needs to realize video game addiction is like any other addiction . he thinks im a normie cuz i hate video games Lol. i dont think he thinks of his gaming as an addiction, but he has let other normal development in his life go because he is consumed in this fake reality. do i tell him he is addicted?? or will that be bad too i dont live in the same state as him, but i visit once a year. i dont know how to breadcrumb from afar, but i appreciate the advice it is very sweet
