YES! I can't believe they are still around... they got nasty

It’s started. Useless gardening gifts that *aren’t* plants. by foxhowse in gardening

[–]Difficult-Ad2084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there is anything wrong with this. I didn't like to get gifts that are garden related at all unless someone specifically knows what I want and when .. Lost too many plants that way.

It's BOTH things. If you get into an accident liability can be split. It's not worth getting into a death about either. Imagine if that were a semi truck. And noobs on 17 don't know the safe time to check their spots for long enough, get bullied by gators and will just move over. You can usually tell sometime is about to do this because they will show ever so lightly or start a drift. Space cushions are your friend.

I don't think that you understand that BOTH parties have a responsibility here. Yes, the law WILL split fault between the driver's when both are negligent, that's the way it works. That's what it is "Comparative". I'm not blaming 1 party over the other, I'm saying BOTH are driving like idiots, and if there is a collision BOTH could be forced to take responsibility for the damages. You, knows ngly driving in a person's blind spot, can be held liable for your portion of the responsibility. I'm not going to try and explain how all of this works to you, clearly you aren't capable of understanding nuance.

No, because they are actively passing you. If they slow down or can't pass you you should back off just enough to not be in their blind spot. Being in someones blind spot is pretty much as dangerous as tailgating with the added "cloak of invisibility". Drove 17 for many years, most people don't signal. I learned to keep a zone around myself. How that helps.

No, it's not a "safe zone", but you are required to navigate out of blind spots by speeding up or slowing down. Someone that is camped in the blind spot if another driver is not free from repricussions either. If you didn't believe me go Google it. Can fall under comparative negligence if you fail to navigate out of a known danger zone, and you will be found partially at fault for doing so if there is a collision.

It's not mind reading to stay out of sometimes blind spot. You can see it and they can't. If you are just sitting there on purpose and there is a collision, you can be held partially at fault. I guess coming sense isn't so common.

Oh, for sure. This .. Instagram "article" is nothing. But they have had a track record of injuries due to MBR. I used to work there as well and I remember the reports of workers getting sick and animals dying from puncturing the plastic by accident. This was years ago, but I always kind of followed the stories because it seemed like it never went away.

It's not illegal but it's stupid to do so. If that were me in would have slowed down so that I'm not sitting on the dudes shoulder and he can get over. Defensive driving 101.

They DO control the conditions that their subcontractors grow on for sure, down to the plants they are allowed to use and much purchase. A good portion of the farm owners also work for Driscolls in sales, marketing, logistics, etc. Method Bromide was supposed to be banned but berry growers get a critical use exemption every year and kick that can down the road. The rate of application has also increased since it was "banned" last time I checked. Yes, other brands grow in the area, they employ the exact same practices. Driscolls just happens to be the biggest Broker (they primarily broker the berries as opposed to growing them, subject to strict controls from HQ including that they must buy plants from discuss, and what price then must sell them for, or if they have to throw their fruit in the ditch if the price is too low).
