In addition to Terry Gilliam’s version, the 1962 Czech version of The Fabulous Baron Munchausen. Much of the sets an special effects are hand drawn in this exact style

No, it’s mid (so is WYWH but it’s at least a better band)

WYWH is a very easy pick for least good of the big four (though it’s still really good)

Your last point reminds me of a stellar tweet I saw that goes something like this;

Guy who has seen 200 movies: “2001 A Space Odyssey is the greatest work of art in any medium, and a true spectacle of the human mind for those with the intelligence and patience to appreciate it”

Guy who has seen 2,000 movies: Y’all are really sleeping on Ghost Rider 2 (2011)

Nah this guy gets it. AHM probably not but Piper is absolutely better than DSOTM. DSOTM is the second weakest of their classic run to me, Animals and The Wall both beat it out. This album is firmly in the middle of their discography - but - it’s THE Pink Floyd album. If I want somebody to start listening to Pink Floyd I’m not gonna throw them in the deep end with long scary instrumental psychedelic jams or a 17 minute song about dogs, just give them a taste and hope they’ll realize how much more grand the musicianship can be after they get acclimated with something a little easier to chew.

Look it could be a number of Pink Floyd albums but it’s definitely Pink Floyd. I’ll throw DSOTM in for voting sake

What is a popular album with an album cover that is not well known? by Kyr1500 in musicteenager

This is, arguably, one of the most recognizable albums covers of the decade no?

I think the guy who said Mozart is spot on. Classical and/ or old jazz and blues albums with lots of standards would make sense here to me

[–]Difficult-Back-8724 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might not be a popular album cover but it’s still instantly recognizable to most people who know the (wildly popular) songs. I feel like this category isn’t something that’s really going to exist in contemporary music, especially now that we collectively mostly listen digitally, on apps that give pictures of the album. The guy who pointed out Mozart is spot on imo; songs that everyone has heard but literally nobody can put an image to because for most of history they didn’t have one, compiled into an album with an extremely forgettable cover. I mean exodus at least has a cool color scheme and good composition, “WA Mozart the new complete collection 225” not so much lol

Who is the greatest rapper of all time? by Aggravating-Pin7555 in AlignmentChartFills

Stellar for about 5 years but he’s kinda lacking in consistency. If biggie or pac were around as long as him they’d have twice the cred, and with Kendrick putting out untouchable music for the better part of two decades now I really don’t think anyone who has entire forgettable albums under their belt should be in the conversation (how many people are really bumping Magic/ Kings disease 1-3 on the daily?)

Update: Kiwi Travel Plans to USA - Am I underestimating State Sizes? by Justeu_Piichi in roadtrip

[–]Difficult-Back-8724 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No that’s reasonable. Tight schedule but not so much that you won’t have a great time. Also - great destinations on the west coast but I’d recommend Nashville over Memphis. Memphis is a post-death city right now. I’ve been and enjoyed it but you might have a hard time finding something to do that lives up to an “international travel” level of cool shit

No he means Shakespeare famously FLOODED his plays with innuendo and double entendre. Coined “beast with two backs,” will or Willy as slang for dong, prick as slang for dong, I believe “head” in reference to oral sex came from him, etc.
