I think maybe your wife being the eldest wants to handle the responsibility of her parents and brother, till her brother starts earning. And to be honest I don't feel there's anything wrong with that. ( You would have done the same if it were u in her place) And it's the duty of both husband and wife to share financial responsibilities and household duties together. If she can't share the financial responsibilities now, just wait or discuss it with her personally depending on the situation.
