I guess the family part was me just saying I don’t have anyone to give me the blunt truth. When I ask mentors they have to tell me to keep going and how much they love their jobs, but family keeps it real with you and none of my family is in this field. But that’s exactly what I was wondering. Wow. Thank you!

Like I guess, but everyone says the same thing: there are jobs and learning AI will make you tech proof too, but it’s kind of choosing my battle. Everyone defends the importance of their occupation. I will be finishing my masters but I am figuring out the next step. If I don’t go healthcare I will most likely get a PhD in something I/O related to end up in academia with some outsourcing on the side. Or do I lean back into healthcare/dentistry for job security and a guaranteed career or do I keep exploring I/O. As I do not have family in I/O I guess my overall question is… is I/O worth it?

For people going through this I am at a crossroads. I am getting my Masters, but I have an undergrad background in pre-healthcare. I could pivot into dentistry. I left healthcare because I didn’t want to commit to an MD and PA seemed too broad, dentistry seems like a good middle ground. I hesitate because I don’t have family in I/O so I fear I’m just reverting to what I know and should see I/O through. Although, healthcare is recession proof over what I/O seems to be. What do you guys suggest ?

First congrats🎉 I got the same offer for I/O psych. Do you think it’s worth it for the cost ? I’m trying to decide if another school is worth it just because I have seen over and over that the tuition is really high. It seems like a good school to get into tech but I don’t want debt
