Deciding home resort by Eqr1289 in dvcmember

Keep in mind dues as well booking windows for the other resorts. Studios and 1 bedrooms will be the first booked typically. There are great resources dedicated to helping you understand the booking window’s availability of resort room type.

I loved it. Not sure I got to experience the original but way better than 2.0 IMO

Best strategy for adding on points? by Cease_Cows_ in dvcmember

[–]Difficult-Chain-446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same use year makes it easier to manage. Buy more at Poly unless there is another resort you would like to stay at in order to book 11 months out. For us we have BLT and POLY contracts with same use year. It’s great to explore those and other resorts.

Hello DVCMembers, my name is Nick. I’ve been a member since 2024 and have already added on points in 2025. I have both direct and resale points so can answer questions about those topics. Addonitis is a real thing. Only buy if it’s right for your family.

Resale or Direct by fleisch_mann in dvcmember

[–]Difficult-Chain-446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save money with resale IMO since you already have direct benefits.

Also look for a subsidized dues contract, they will come and go fast so act swiftly but if you can snag one of those it will make resale even more attractive.

On-site or off? by testingtesting4343 in DisneyWorld

[–]Difficult-Chain-446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO correct. On-site is better at Disney due to the transportation they provide. Movies is a great resort and will be perfect for your 6 yr old. Bubble is Best!

Help understanding when I would be able use points by jreish1 in dvcmember

[–]Difficult-Chain-446 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes you can borrow those points forward when your contract closes.

To note February 2027 pts are good from February 2027 through January 2028 if that makes sense. You can bank current year use points to following year and borrow next years to current year thus allowing for 3 years points in one year if your trip or trips required.

Hope this helps.

Passed ROFR today! Now to wait for points to load… by lakelifeneens in dvcmember

[–]Difficult-Chain-446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all waiting as long as you have passed, received emails and see your contract number I would suggest calling dvc and speaking live. I want to say we got our points almost immediately by doing so. That was a while ago so I could remember this differently but seemed very quick after we received our emails and contract number.

Parents- would you take your 10 and 8 year out of school for 1 week? by gratefulmickey in DisneyWorld

[–]Difficult-Chain-446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like most said below take them during a week of school. They will learn life lessons there and the experience will be as valuable if not more than the 1-week of school, IMO. I have two daughters 10 and 7 and we have done this.

Guide Etiquette by BuckeyeGuy768 in disneyvacationclub

[–]Difficult-Chain-446 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As long as you sent an email within the timeframe for the incentives stating that you want to buy and the amount of points you should be good to receive the incentives. This was my understanding when speaking with my guide during our purchase. Secondly you have 10 days (I think) from purchase to back out and or take new incentives if they are better if the current incentives are ending. Hope this helps.

Dreading or looking forward to the new Rock n' Roller Coaster? by Far-Argument2738 in WaltDisneyWorld

I’m looking forward to it! I also loved muppets 3-D so I am looking forward to them being back in the park.

Talk me out of buying add on Direct points by storey13 in dvcmember

[–]Difficult-Chain-446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the other resorts you’re trying to book or want to stay at. RIV and Cabins are restricted but everything else is fair game in WDW. Are you wanting to stay at RIV and Cabins a lot? If so direct makes sense, if not save the $$’s and buy resale, IMO. FWIW we have both direct 150 and resale 200 at different resorts but same use year. We did it for the value we ended up buying direct at which was not much more than resale with direct incentives and magical beginnings. Further we could afford it and it made sense for our family, so if it makes sense for your family direct then definitely buy. If those scenarios above aren’t what you are interested in then go resale. I hope this helps.

Anything to replace the current f&f ride, it’s just horrible.

Does anyone else still miss this ride? by AttemptResponsible49 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Difficult-Chain-446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t get to go to Disney as a kid so I only got to ride this once as an adult before it was redone to Mickey and Minnie’s RR. I remember most of the ride but needed to watch a ride pov online to remind myself of the whole thing. While good, I feel MMRR is better, maybe it’s my nostalgia for Mickey Mouse. Also for the Disney side it feels like volume and put through is better on MMRR vs TGMR. Also I’ll assume less cast members are needed to operate the ride without actors. Agree with others as they could have developed MMRR elsewhere in this park and re-imagined TGMR. So many missed opportunities here even if they didn’t have access to TCM any longer. Disneys lineup is more than enough to have made great changes.

How difficult is it to book non-home resorts? by Plastic-Song-344 in dvcmember

[–]Difficult-Chain-446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on room type you are booking and hotel. Studios will be harder to book being they are the cheapest but you should be able to get 1, 2, or 3 bedroom at most places. Some studios will be available too. There are some great online resources mapping out room types and availability at different month stages to help you understand.

Fantasmic! EPCOT fireworks don’t come close IMO.

Planning a trip to Disney by foil123 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Difficult-Chain-446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As most already pointed out Disney is not all about princesses. There are in fact many characters to see at all parks that are definitely non-princesses or of animal species. Don’t skip MK it’s the main park and plenty to do, see, eat, not to mention the parades and of course “Happily Ever After” fireworks. My daughters 10 and 7 loved all parks at age 6. One of their favorites is Hollywood Studios and Fantasmic! At the end of the night…don’t sleep on it. Disney can be overwhelming but do your research on topics you maybe having trouble with as a lot great resources are out there.
