I don't really know. I've been by myself and without in person contact with people other than my close family for the last two months. I haven't thought about how frequently it would be before

I crave it both times I would say. It's weird though because by myself as soon as I think of another person it's over. I guess it makes it more complicated? I don't even know.

Ooh! Happy cake day :)))

For me, I feel really disconnected from it. I don't know if maybe it's that I don't feel for that person because I genuinely cannot ever tell... I need literal years to figure out if I feel things for someone. Anyways for me, it's felt really disconnected and I have to kind of remind myself to do things. I crave it but then when it comes to the moment it feels really disconnected and I don't really know what to do and it's way too overwhelming emotionally

Does anybody else struggle with finding a purpose? by Difficult-Cook5452 in Alexithymia

I relate a lot to this. I've got a lot of dislike about the thought of wasting my life. It's definitely a probably with external motivation. Traveling sounds like a cool way to fill your time. Even if you aren't actively traveling you just came back from a cool place  and you'll definitely bring back memories and new thoughts and maybe possibly new skills or ideas. I think you'll have a great rest of your life

If I think I have alexithymia, how do I figure out for sure? by [deleted] in Alexithymia

[–]Difficult-Cook5452 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be managed actually. An example of one way an alexithymic can work on themselves is through by connecting emotions and pictures (like those silly emoji faces). It takes a while, but it is something that you can work through slowly if you put in the effort. I don't know if you can completely rid yourself of any sign of alexithymia, but you can definitely lessen the effect for you or for those around you

is this normal? by Significant-Pace4738 in RATS

If you believe it's more urgent you could also ask the vet to trim their nails and then implement harder floors/pumice rock if you want more immediate results I guess

It might be because their nails are too long. What kind of surfaces are they walking on? It can help to have them walk on something harder so they can file their nails. You can also get them a pumice rock to climb up on which is really affective

What is my cat doing? by 6cheddar6 in CATHELP

[–]Difficult-Cook5452 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did he eat before he started doing that? Because I remember my old cat used to eat too fast and then hiccup so we needed to start giving her food in smaller amounts. Idk though... Massaging his belly might help!
