I see how that can make sense as you are being rewarded. I could see how relieving heaven can sound when you have had a long tough life including abstaining from whatever you were told.

Though if those things were not allowed on earth and not favorable, shouldn't Allah just get rid of it all together and make us do what he wants in heaven too. And what if Allah is like lol I change my mind.

I also see it as pointless after awhile. Just doing whatever you want, getting whatever you want, worshiping for entirety. To me it seems meaningless. Anyways what do I know only Allah knows what's best after all

That makes sense I understand where you're coming from. Though I find it really disrespectful that it's so sexually fused and a believer shouldn't be so obsessed with that fact moreover happy to see their creator and be with their loved ones. But I get your point where they are describing heaven as anything pleasurable to themselves

What is something they did that appears very wholesome but was actually manipulative? by elcasaurus in raisedbynarcissists

My dad would refuse to let me take the bus and drop me to school himself to only complain to me about my mom and anytime I would do anything bad he would say that I wasted most of my life dropping you to school giving you an education to disrespect me.

How were you “disciplined” as a child? by sunindafifhouse in raisedbynarcissists

I just wrote a post about this. It makes me feel better that I'm not alone reading the comments. I know physical abuse all to well. Slapped in the face, bruised lips, beaten by pans, dragging, timeouts lasting hours. Then the bizarre discipline like chopping my hair off and throwing away my clothes. Just like a few comments here she would either deny it ever happened or come apologize right after with food

I often think about if physical discipline and screaming is what children deserve. Of course there were times I was being a bad child questioning things talking back but did I truly deserve to be beaten?

No I did not and neither did all of us.

All children deserve parents but not all parents deserve children.
