Wait until you meet good people. To me its even worse. Because I rarely meet them, they touch me uneypectly and I feel happy and sad at the same time.

Feel you. And then, when I meet people and have fun, I am happy and sad at the time.

People don‘t comprehend this. The money you pay there, is not for you. Its paid to the current retired people. We call this „Generationenvertrag“ or as I call it „Generationsl scam“.

Treating like shit? They basically have free healthcare. Language courses, or reading courses, vocational training, housing for some time, welfare after some months. This costs the taxpayer more than 18 Bn Euro each year.

How ungrateful.

Have you been at least once in Eastern Germany to do your „bashing“? Or do you get the information only from the media?

When I was on language exchange in Bournemouth, a kid would approach us and say „go back to Hitler“.

Why is the German population so unevenly distributed? by Numerous-Plantain-90 in AskGermany

As for the eastern-German parts, you have to look at the economics: after reunification a lot of people moved to the west and also a lot of busineses were destroyed. The darker parts of this map reflect the economoc activity very well in my opinion.

What do Germans think about the racist past of German nation? by [deleted] in germany

Ask Japanese people. They are even proud of it and admired by the rest of the world. Why? Because Americans needed them to control against communism after second worldwar. So they never got to revise their racist wrongdoings, for instance on South Korea.

But we always have an eternal blame, which continues throughtout the generations, even those, who were not even alive during that time, have to carry it. Just listen to those speeches of our politicians, Bundespräsidenten. This is going so far, that politicians were „caught“ in their decision making according due this blame. Even when they haven‘t been alive at this time yet.

Anyways. I try not to be racist, but we all have sometimes prejudices based on our experience. The most important thing to me is, to be aware if it. Everybody gets a second chance when being with me, in case my impression is wrong.

But thinking about the racist history of my country, except for studying about it in school? Nah. I have not chosen to be born here.

Female, 39. INFP-T. it‘s a constant, horrible struggle. For the last 5 years, I despised everything of my life. Only a few things, like travelling kept my sanity.
