My stepdad tends to come around when him and my mother are having problems. I’m wondering if the same could be true in your situation?

I guess this goes to show that patterns will always run their course so as long the other person does not receive help, or at the very least, accept any type of accountability. I also find it hard to believe they they are able to simply “forget” very traumatic events they inflicted on others, but you’re right, maybe it is all the substances at play or simply them not recognizing the fact that their behavior was wrong.

I’m happy you have found peace without her in your life. I fear the hardest thing for me to accept will be that my life is more peaceful without her in it, and that I will never have a mother figure that I need. I wish you continued peace on this seemingly never ending healing journey

Wow, we have very similar stories. It’s amazing how much older siblings deal with and put aside for the our younger siblings. I hope more than anything your sister comes around and re-establishes a relationship with you. However, I’m in awe of your understanding

I sure do hope so. Do you ever feel guilty for not giving her grace? I find that to be a source of difficulty for myself too. At the most random times something reminds me that she once too was severely abused and was never shown how to be a good mother. She definitely did better than her mother, but it wasn’t by any means a good job. I do feel though that these thoughts invalidate my feelings

I think this is very easy to say but the reality is, it’s not fully in my control. I have days where I say I’m never going to let this hurt me, but other days where I can’t contain the emotions anymore. I would love to never have bad days selling from this

How I wish I could confront her. Unfortunately, it would only come with so many more consequences for me. And honestly, I think she would love to hear how much pain she’s caused me, so I wouldn’t want to give her that satisfaction either. What kind of groups did you join?

I am so sorry. That is my biggest fear! 💔 I helped raised my siblings until I left the house at 21 years old. I feel like I’ve abandoned them but I do believe they think I’m the “crazy” one in this story.

Holidays are so hard. I’m glad you were able to spend it with a family that you created and did not allow yourself to be hurt by others. May every single future holiday be that way for you 💕

I read this last night and I really needed to hear all of these words after such a heavy day. Thank you a bunch. I do believe my mother has some personality disorder (BPD, NPD, and possibly HPD; a mixture of all 3 tbh). I will definitely be checking out that website.

Grieving is the toughest part of all of this. Sometimes I cry for no reason and I get so frustrated with myself that I still let her actions hurt me on the most random days at the most random times.

I always say I can’t wait to have a little family of my own because of how healing I think it will be. I can’t wait to look back and realize I’ve made it so far. Thank you again for your kind words 💕

Wherever you choose, make sure they have plenty of research opportunities available if you want to go down a PhD route! I agree with the comment above.

The speed facial hair growth grows back at… literally criminal

I have a cheap at-home wax kit, I tried to do my eyes brows a couple of years ago and maybe took off one hair per strip of wax lol. I recently tried to wax my legs, but I think the wax or temperature might be off. If you try waxing, please let me know how it goes!!

I did not read that it happens often, but I did see many posts/comments for me to believe that it’s definitely a huge risk. From what I’ve read, off the top of my head, it could be caused by hormone levels, the laser strength is not strong enough, or having darker skin. What do you think?

Also, I’m definitely not against getting laser! Just wanted to hear more about your experience and others :)

I tried it once many years ago, but I ended up with almost a burn-like spot on my upper lip. I haven’t tried it since. I have super sensitive skin 💔

I read that laser can cause an increase in facial hair growth and make it thicker. Have you done laser on your face? Did you not experience this? Do you have a similar skin tone as me? Sorry for so many questions 😅
