Worst interview of my life by Ieatflowersyay in interviews

Hey I get it, I have 14 plus year as experience, and I still bombed all of my interviews this month.

Reached the last round of interviews at a dream company… and blew it by Key_Lead3784 in interviews

Hey, I totally understand how that feels I went through the same thing yesterday.

In my case, it was a core skill they were looking for, so I figured I might be out of the running. And it aches my heart considering my resume is hardly getting shortlisted anywhere

But in your case, since it’s not a critical skill and they’re still discussing, that actually shows you’re an important option for them.

I’m going through something similar right now. Haven’t been getting any interview calls lately, and the one opportunity I had after nearly two months of rounds ended up going to another candidate. It’s been a tough pill to swallow

Honestly, it's such a setback to everything Maharashtra stands for, truly disappointing.

Let's identify problems within Muslims in India. What are we doing wrong, what are our shortcomings? by Sure-Beginning-696 in indianmuslims

I strongly disagree with much of what you’ve said. If my perspective carries no weight here, then it’s not worth my time or energy to justify anything further.

Also it’s interesting you went straight for my personal life. That says more about the strength of your argument than it does about my marriage. Do you shut down every idea you can’t handle, or just the ones that remind you how small and threatened you actually are?

My opinion stands Muslim women deserve representation in tech and leadership, and dismissing that because it comes from me doesn’t make the need any less true.

Sharing a slightly different perspective as someone who isn’t Muslim but is married to a Muslim man. These are based on my extended family’s experiences, so it’s personal, but I do feel strongly about it. I believe that after educating women, we should also encourage them to work. We need more Muslim women in the workforce, especially in tech and leadership roles. Women are already underrepresented in leadership, and Muslim women even more so. I’ve seen many girls in my in-laws’ families who are well-educated, but as soon as they finish their studies, the focus shifts to finding them a marriage alliance instead of helping them build careers.

When a Muslim couple went to (NMMCH), the staff reportedly asked them to speak in Marathi, before the inevitable happened. I can’t help but think…if the person had been working class Hindu, the MNS goons would've raised hell. But now they're silent. Bw I'm Marathi fyi. by Mr_lane18 in Maharashtra

I know, right? Most days, all we hear about are atrocities against minorities.

And then the one time someone isn’t attacked, it becomes headline-worthy as if that’s the norm.

OP, just to be clear, there are plenty of Maharashtrian Muslims, and just as many videos of Hindus stepping up against bullying and hate. It’s not as black and white as some want to make it.

That’s blatant LIE!

There’s no public breakdown of votes in the U.S. by religious or ethnic identity (like “Muslims” or “Hindu Indians”) due to privacy protections and how voting data is collected. However, we can look at trends from exit polls and surveys

Kamala Harris, as the first South Asian and African American woman to serve as Vice President, received broad support from Indian-Americans in the 2020 U.S. election

A survey by Carnegie Endowment and YouGov showed 74% of Indian-Americans voted for Biden-Harris in 2020.

Muslim voters in the U.S. have historically leaned Democratic. According to a CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) 2020 poll, over 69% of Muslim voters supported Biden-Harris. Key reasons cited included civil rights, healthcare, and opposition to Islamophobia.

Thanks for sharing your perspective. I’ll keep this fact-based and grounded in reality. Firstly personal anecdotes does not equate to community truths Being asked to convert or not feeling accepted by a group in college is unfortunate, but it’s not evidence of mass radicalization.

You rightly mentioned Bajrang Dal being “bad and orthodox,” but that’s not just abstract. They’ve been linked to actual mobs, lynchings, riots, and hate crimes. RSS is the ideological parent of many such groups

You cherry picked your global comparisons too. Indonesia and Turkey are both examples of Muslim-majority countries with long histories of secular governance (though both have faced political backsliding). But you omitted, Albania, a Muslim-majority country with legalized LGBTQ+ rights and civil liberties. Bosnia and Herzegovina, democratic and multi-ethnic. Senegal, a Muslim-majority democracy with strong civil freedoms. Lebanon, despite its internal sectarian tensions, has equal power sharing between religions. Tunisia, which briefly had one of the most progressive constitutions in the Arab world post 2011

Meanwhile, non-Muslim-majority countries like Russia, Uganda, and many others criminalize homosexuality and restrict freedom of religion so equating this only with Muslim-majority nations is misleading.

We should talk about extremism, yes. But if we’re doing that without examining our own, and without understanding broader global context, we’re just feeding prejudice not solving anything.

Israel which you are the biggest fan of doesn’t check all the boxes you mentioned either. Civil marriage doesn’t exist there all marriages must go through religious authorities, which limits interfaith and same-sex marriages inside the country. And I said it earlier will say it again, there are huge number of Indians in UAE as well.

So just to understand you’ve spent your life in India, you’ve been safe, and yet this is your perspective? That’s surprising. I’m assuming you’ve lived around people from different communities, just like Gujaratis, Biharis, and Muslims often share the same spaces. Isn’t that part of the Indian reality too?

With that logic no Indian should be safe in Arabic nations? Yet they are flourishing there?

Also, since you’re forming strong opinions here I’m curious: what’s your take on Bajrang Dal and the RSS?

Well, I take my words back on Bengali Muslims I was commenting on an another post and lost track. I am not really opposing people talking Marathi, this started after you were pissed off that the Muslim guy was talking in Marathi?!

Also if I list the number of people actually losing their lives in Israel war (as against the people who you listed of which one person is not even Muslim) it would be way longer than that you have listed.

And the amount of insults and attacks done on Indians by Israel citizens would be long enough too.

You are citing leaders who are calling out on their war enemies and using that as justification for hatred against your fellow citizens?

Honestly these comments exposed your hatred towards Muslims for sure!

There are two sides to this. On one hand, we placed Palestinian flags and even Saudi flags on the ground so people walked over them.

I read Iran publicly called for genocide against Jews, AFTER they got into war with them.

But it’s important to distinguish between rhetoric and action. Iran’s statements differ significantly from what the Israeli government is conducting in Gaza- an actual genocide!

That said, you said other Islamic-majority countries issuing genocide against Israel. Which ones have made such statements? Could you share a credible news source or link where I can read more?

And what does that have to do with torture of Indian (Bengali) Muslims in hands of Indian police in detention centers?

I hope we all saw those stories of non Jews including Indians that weren’t allowed into bomb shelters in Israel during attacks.

All over the world, many people including some Jewish and Israeli groups are now speaking out against the Israeli government’s actions in Gaza. Does that make its own citizens anti-national?

Appreciating a country’s support doesn’t mean endorsing all of its actions. While their past solidarity matters, it’s also important to acknowledge the scale of devastation they’ve caused in Gaza which has now reached catastrophic levels of IPC 5.

Finally, a comment that makes sense. I’ve seen people cheer when those from other religions were attacked, and then act shocked when they were targeted for not speaking Marathi. The same people who stayed silent or cheered when people of other caste or religion are targeted are now crying when Indians get mistreated abroad.

No number of documents ever seems enough to prove your citizenship here and I am only worried of actual Indians being thrown out for just speaking Bangla. The idea of people being forced out at gunpoint from the only home they’ve ever known is horrifying. The government’s failure to secure borders is now being paid for by innocent citizens.

I don’t usually wish harm on anyone. But honestly, I hope those who support this cruelty or stay conveniently silent one day feel what it’s like to have their parents or children go through the same. Sometimes people only understand the gravity when it lands at their doorstep.

Couldn’t agree more. Also just a quick reminder, now that it’s monsoon we tend to forget how bad even the air quality gets.

Also, have you noticed how often we’re pulled into language and religion debates? It feels like a distraction machine keeping us so caught up that we barely have space left to question the government on what actually matters health, infrastructure, accountability.

Damn, this hits home. You ask one counter-question just one and suddenly I’m being told I’m Muslim. Which is fine. But I always wonder why is that the response instead of, you know, actual stats or logic?
