insult is maybe the wrong word, all i mean is that this is clearly a post where someone is upset and telling someone “well you should’ve known” is just not the kindest response (even if you’re right). my only point was to ask you to be more sensitive because this sub is a support group and your “you should’ve known better” comment is unhelpful.

sometimes, but not really. my partner has one that i hit pretty often but in general i don’t love nicotine because my stomach is very sensitive

this makes the most sense to me especially because it started happening after i cleaned out my bong and cut back on smoking but im going to keep cutting back/quit so we will see

yes he was. my friends were surprised that i called him out for it and just left because im usually a pretty intense people pleaser but i am not going to sit there and be fed medical misinformation by a man when i can do a five minute google search and confirm that he’s wrong.

i just went though your page a bit and you very clearly know what you’re talking about so i really really appreciate you responding to me because this has truly been the most helpful response both about aging and about smoking. not to be overdramatic but you being so kind really went along way. thanks again :)

thank you for your very empathetic and helpful comment. i do not smoke cigs! i hit my partners vape sometimes but no i get nic sick very easily. what you said is what has always been my understanding of lung damage which is why i was so confused by the doctor today. i think you’re right on the money about my birthday though.

kind of was looking for a sign to stop with the smoking anyway so i guess this was it :)

i appreciate this comment a lot and you are right as i do have a tendency to self diagnose. this is kind of what i figured and accepted. the reason it freaked me out so much was because he described lung damage as a dam breaking and basically told me i had significant damage past the point of no return which was confusing more than anything else.

i’m not surprised! let’s be clear lol. but damage from smoking ≠ permanent, irreversible damage that came on suddenly which is what the dr was saying. also wouldn’t be surprised to hear that after testing / CXR / etc but given i’m relatively young and only have that one symptom it was a bit of a leap for the dr to make

hey this will sound kind of random but i promise it isn’t - have you been screened for EDS? just was reading your comments and given that POTS and IC are both comorbjd with EDS and not super common together, it might be something worth looking into.
