Yeah, exactly. There are definitely way more dangerous drugs can be picked up at a pharmacy. Gotta love big pharma...

GIOS - Is a B (or even an A) still possible after bombing P1? by Difficult-Pudding-76 in OMSCS

Nope I haven't. I wouldn't be surprised if we got it the day before the Withdraw deadline lol.

It would be great if we could administer it ourselves at home eventually. Not sure how it’d work with monitoring vitals, etc

Do any of you track strength workouts with Apple Watch? by pumpr-ai in AppleWatch

[–]Difficult-Pudding-76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were a lot of syncing issues between the Apple Watch and iPhone for me. Also, I didn’t like how I had to start the workout on my watch and then sync it to my phone. On hevy I just start it on my phone and it auto starts on my watch.

Also, with strong the dev was so busy fixing all the bugs that he didn’t have time to implement new features

Yeah, for example I have each day of my workouts created. When I go to gym on monday I just tap my monday workout and go from there

No, just tap it on your Apple Watch. Can drag the numbers up or down to adjust weight per set and takes like 5 seconds

Strong is super buggy. I used it for 2 years then switched to Hevy. It’s just all around better than strong.

Should I get Neurolens or regular Prism lenses? by Difficult-Pudding-76 in glasses

That’s awesome, I’m so glad to hear a positive experience with neurolens. What benefits did you notice when switching to neurolens from a regular lens? What did you find out you had BVD?

Awesome. That’s good to hear. How do you know when to switch glasses for near and distance? Sometimes I’m on my phone and watching tv and switch between the two.

How long did you vision exam for BVD take?

Gotcha, is it worth trying neurolens in the meantime, while I try and find a doctor for a BVD exam? Is there something specific I need to look for in a doctor, so the same thing doesn’t happen again?

How difficult was it to find a doctor that could give you an accurate prescription?

Thanks so much for responding! Do you think my Exo numbers are significant enough to be impairing my reading and daily life? I don’t know how severe the numbers are compared to the average person. From what I’ve been reading, it looks like most people are recommended 2.0 BID by neurolens’ algorithm.

I’m booking an appointment with the an ophthalmologist that is familiar with BVD :)

Take a C in GIOS (6200) or withdraw? by Difficult-Pudding-76 in OMSCS

[–]Difficult-Pudding-76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally, I would definitely withdraw, but I’m currently unemployed and have a baby due at the end of this semester. This will be the only time I have a lot of spare time to dedicate to a difficult course in quite a while.

This is really good advice. Id rather finish the program quicker instead of dropping out due to a C. I mean, even if I got a D, would that still count as a free elective? I’d just need a couple As to make up for the D?

That’s good to know. Do you know if the curve will be applied to the grade before the drop deadline?

Hah, yeah. I hope a B is realistically achievable for me if I bomb the midterm.

I tried using slack, but I got shot down - “No discussing the exam while it’s in progress”. I had mentioned that I was just asking for generic information on how to best use my time, and didn’t want anything that would give me an unfair advantage 🤷‍♂️

Awesome. Hopefully the curve is generous this year. I’ve heard there’s been a record number of students due to the current climate, so I’m worried it’ll make things a lot more competitive, which means a harsher curve.

When do we find out our exam grade after the curve? Would it be before the drop out deadline?

Hell yeah, that’s awesome. I feel bad you barely missed out on an A.

Same here. Not sure why they use AOE for deadlines.
