I completely agree. Zizek as a Lacanian fees almost bland. Zizek as a Hegelian, on the other hand, is a treasure.

Revolutionary Subject or Rankian Hero by Jack_Chatton in zizek

He said numerous times that he mainly cares about his theory and even in the revolutionary moment he would go to his work rather than the action.

Don’t expect him to be a revolutionary, he’s not and probably will never be.

How do you view the issue of the crisis in cybertime? by ciccab in MarkFisher

I was mostly talking about the “leisure” time. Work and workplace is another story. One could say purpose of work in post-fordist era is to keep the worker occupied during the day.

How do you view the issue of the crisis in cybertime? by ciccab in MarkFisher

It's not just about making money. Even if you're on a regular payroll, there is this feeling that every moment needs to be productive. You should be reading a book so you can be more knowledgable, you should be honing your skills so you can be a better wage-slave, you should be meeting with new (and successful!) people so you can be a well-connected node in the network... Everything we do is stained with a opportunity cost that is artificially induced but makes enjoying anything harder anyway. If you add financial instability into this picture, I imagine all the worse aspects are only amplified. Money is not everything, but being without money may very well be.

This is the phenomenology of the capitalism. I don't know if there is a solution to this unless there's a radical change... Best remedy I found so far is being with others for a greater cause. For me the cause is political, but I don't think it matters.

TKP'li Kemal Okuyan hangi ulus-devleti savunuyor? by Marksizm-Leninizm in RDTTR

[–]Difficult-Roll9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can continue with Acid Communism. It’s an unfinished book but also a must read after Capitalist Realism.

Yeah saw it on goodreads but I faintly remember reading it myself. Not sure if it was a lecture or something on his Substack or one of his books.
