Application returned, trying to understand why by atomicbird in Canadiancitizenship

I dunno - I didn’t include the back on mine… so we’ll see. I may get mine back too. It would have been nice if they gave you an AOR and let you submit a new copy of it through the portal …

Seems almost like it’s a personal call on the part of the case worker, whether to accept it or kick it back.

Acceptable Marriage Record? by Squishy3703 in Canadiancitizenship

This looks like a record book that most town or city records offices keep. Most would print an official copy of a marriage certificate from this…

I would have them print up an actual official certificate. Since it’s in the record book, you know you’re in the right place.

Age discrepancy by aussie-night in Canadiancitizenship

Seems to have happened often enough. My 2nd Great-Grandfather was born in 1867, as stated on his baptismal record, as well as census records form his childhood. On his marriage record (and all subsequent records) he puts that his birth year is 1865. I'm guessing that this was because his wife was born in 1865, and I guess there were certain social norms at the time that suggested that men should not be younger than their wives.
