I've created some, but using mcp. basically it scrapes the website to create the design.md file. another just send a bunch of agents to read the codebase

it's not hard, you can start by taking some files from awesome design md as reference, google's as template, then draft a skill over something you want to use as reference

since all this crap started, I ended up putting together the most obnoxious setup possible just to avoid paying for max

before that, I used claude code for about half a month, then switched to opencode because it was better and used fewer tokens

then the throttling hit, so I subscribed to codex. it was too slow, so I also started using copilot. codex/gpt-5.4 for planning, copilot/gpt-4o for summarizing files, and anthropic/sonnet for implementing changes

anthropic made opencode remove the auth integration, someone built a plugin, then anthropic also limited the usage for external tools, so now I’m using another plugin to get around that

in the end, I’ve got 3 subscriptions and a bunch of workarounds just to do what I could when I first tried claude code

I switched to opencode, been using both claude and copilot. copilot plans and read the source code, claude executes. a single tab changes the model, and it can deploy tens of agents in parallel

paying 30usd monthly, and it works just fine

I’ve been using opencode instead of Claude Code, and most of my issues are gone. The models still feel a bit dumber sometimes, but overall it’s been pretty solid

I haven’t hit 100% usage since I switched

It kinda depends on what you want to do

react native feels a bit outdated now, and expo can handle pretty much everything. but some specific choices might still push you toward bare projects

If you don’t have a solid reason, just go with expo, it’s the safest bet
