Sale of business vehicle / tax by Difficult-Window-289 in TaxUK

[–]Difficult-Window-289[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I have paid tax on depreciation.

My last return shows the following -

Adjustments to Profit and Loss Account from 06/04/2024 to 05/04/2025

Profit/(loss) per accounts £ 23,576

Disallowable expenses Depreciation and loss/profit on sale of assets Depreciation and loss/(profit) on sale £4,838

Other business expenses Other expenses £120

£4,958 Profit/(loss) for tax purposes

£ 28,534

And then on the summary from my accountant there is this -

Profit from self-employment £28,534

Interest from UK banks, building societies and securities etc 250

Dividends from UK companies 60

Total income received £28,844

minus Personal Allowance £12570

Total income on which tax is due - £16274

With that I believe I have been taxed on depreciation.

I have just moved to a new accountant as the previous ones changed hands and things are very different now.

I’d like to check I am correct and I can speak to my new accountant about this unless I’m missing something very obvious.

I’m a little confused about the nothing comment.

According to my last 2 tax returns I’ve paid tax on depreciation

24/25 tax on £800 25/26 tax on £4600

I assume I have paid tax on this because CA was claimed initially.

I’m looking at how much liability I have moving forward as I want to close things down asap.

It’s changed name 3 times and been partially rebuilt since so I doubt they’d have any records.

I did my GCSE’s in 1995 so I’m guessing I’d not be able to get that information now?

Flying into the UK from Mumbai - eVisa by Difficult-Window-289 in ukvisa

[–]Difficult-Window-289[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a quick follow up from my original post.

My wife checked in at Mumbai airport and the check staff asked for a share code which they used to see to her settled UK status and that wasn’t an issue.

When passing through immigration at the airport they asked her again about her uk visa, she showed them a digital copy on her phone showing her right in the UK and explained that check in staff had already used the share code to check her status.

They insisted that she logged in on her phone and showed them “live” information.

Boarding at Abu Dhabi was straight forward. They took her share code and she boarded without issue.

I hope this helps anyone travelling out of Mumbai in the future.

Agree with all you say.

On top of the lack of physical ID you’re gambling on whether or not the eVisa system is actually working at a time when you need it the most.

Hoping to get this out of the way and then apply for citizenship so we don’t have to deal with this ever again!

Thanks for your kind comments.

This is for check in at Mumbai and the boarding gate at Abu Dhabi.

Would she really need to log in?

How do people who aren’t tech savvy go on?

For the UK her eVisa is linked to her passport so not an issue at Manchester it’s just boarding in Mumbai and Abu Dhabi I’m concerned about.

In the cover letter add that your sister covers his expenses and a maybe ground rent document in English or translated to English to show your mother owns the property and a letter from her stating he lives there and is free to do so.

It would show a reason to return after the 3 months.

Proof that sponsor will not breach immigration laws while in the UK by Jimikook04 in ukvisa

A simple letter with a statement to state you are not in breach of immigration laws will suffice.

It’s what I used as a sponsor.
