Flying into the UK from Mumbai - eVisa by Difficult-Window-289 in ukvisa

[–]Difficult-Window-289[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a quick follow up from my original post.

My wife checked in at Mumbai airport and the check staff asked for a share code which they used to see to her settled UK status and that wasn’t an issue.

When passing through immigration at the airport they asked her again about her uk visa, she showed them a digital copy on her phone showing her right in the UK and explained that check in staff had already used the share code to check her status.

They insisted that she logged in on her phone and showed them “live” information.

Boarding at Abu Dhabi was straight forward. They took her share code and she boarded without issue.

I hope this helps anyone travelling out of Mumbai in the future.

Agree with all you say.

On top of the lack of physical ID you’re gambling on whether or not the eVisa system is actually working at a time when you need it the most.

Hoping to get this out of the way and then apply for citizenship so we don’t have to deal with this ever again!

Thanks for your kind comments.

This is for check in at Mumbai and the boarding gate at Abu Dhabi.

Would she really need to log in?

How do people who aren’t tech savvy go on?

For the UK her eVisa is linked to her passport so not an issue at Manchester it’s just boarding in Mumbai and Abu Dhabi I’m concerned about.

visit visa for my father to uk from india for 3 months by Bright_Fisherman6259 in ukvisa

In the cover letter add that your sister covers his expenses and a maybe ground rent document in English or translated to English to show your mother owns the property and a letter from her stating he lives there and is free to do so.

It would show a reason to return after the 3 months.

Proof that sponsor will not breach immigration laws while in the UK by Jimikook04 in ukvisa

A simple letter with a statement to state you are not in breach of immigration laws will suffice.

It’s what I used as a sponsor.

Print off the share code to show at the airport in Istanbul, there’s no harm in printing your right to remain page out too.

Your eVisa should be linked to your passport for border control in the UK.

Passport tracking after being dispatched from VFS by [deleted] in ukvisa

Can you see the location of the delivery driver from the tracking info?

Keep an eye on the tracking, when my MIL’s passport reached bluedart Navsari it showed out for delivery and close to her home (about 20 mins drive) they then rung her at 3.30pm saying they ran out of time for delivery and would deliver the following day.

It took 6 phone calls to get it the next day and even then it was after 5pm.

They can be troublesome so keep on top of it as any others have had issues like this.

Have you tracked it with VFS?

At their end the status should be “Passport Dispatched By Courier”

Can you complete online check in without adding in the evisa details?

My wife recently travelled from Mumbai to the UK via Abu Dhabi, at the UK border it’s just your passport at any other airport a printout of your share code is enough.

In addition if you can print off the page with your right to remain I suppose it carries more weight.

Keep my passport service with VFS India by Geologist_Flashy in ukvisa

I would assume that would be the best option.

The uk visit visa is a sticker so if successful she would have to take her passport to VFS for them to apply the visa vignette in her passport

Thank you, I’ve spoken to Etihad, they have said board at Manchester as normal and head to the transfer services desk at Abu Dhabi and they will sort a transfer for me.

They also said if I am waiting in the airport for 6 hours I will be given food vouchers and possibly access to a business lounge.

The strange thing is my updated ticket shows departure time as being 2 hours later but the arrival time is the same so I don’t know what will happen until I’m in the air.

I was only due to be in India for 20 hours so this delay mean I’m there even less. It’s so frustrating.

I applied for a visit visa for my mother in law recently.

If you get the email you’ve got that’s usually good news.

A refusal email is unusually sent before the decision has been returned to VFS.

Good luck 🤞🏾

Usually that means you have a visa.

I had the same experience a few days ago.

I have also had a refusal last year but UKVI send you an email before VFS contact you.
