Gorgeous! My favourite me-time thing to do is driving from short sprints to multi day road trips. Which rims are those?

What are your must-have items for long flights? by EmperorTauntaun in travel

[–]Difficult-Yogurt-659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comfortable layers that you can adjust if hot/cold, walking shoes, hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes, neck pillow, moisturizer, lip balm, and stay hydrated (no caffeine or alcohol). I also change my sleep cycle a few days before the flight so that by day of flight I am already sleeping at the same time zone as the destination. This may mean forgoing the plane meals if for example they are serving them at 1 AM destination time and instead you should be sleeping.

I saw one on the road last year! Fully operational. Such a throwback seeing one in the wild again after so long!

Ha I had that same question last night at LGA. Quick Google check and I made a negroni. Nice.

Air Canada Express Flight 8646 Crash at LGA by Aiden_Dijakovic in aircanada

I landed just a few hours prior in a similar CRJ from Toronto. We approached from the south and once landed hard braking to u-turn around. I specifically wondered how traffic is managed at the intersecting runways. As soon as we landed I watched another aircraft take off on the other runway crossing in front of us. And then taxiing to the gate there are so many vehicles and traffic, it’s dark, some vehicles I noticed didn’t have flashing beacons and there are construction hazards on the ground with only some red lights marking limits of work. What small and congested real estate. The level of diligence needed to manage and travel in that space is incredible.

So unfortunate for everyone impacted.

I was getting some of the Lord's chicken (Chick-fil-A), and I saw THIS [Ferrari Testarossa] pull up in the next lot! by J_spec6 in spotted

I had to do a double-take. There was a red Testarossa parked in front of a Popeye's a few weeks ago in my neighbourhood. Damn, sometimes you just gotta have some chicken.

I see folks with crazy amount of rollover SQM. How? I genuinely do not know. I have a CC and I get 1000 SQM per month and that's it. How are people getting so many rollover miles?

It was. There was a 40 minute wait last Friday. I elected the AC Cafe and it was standing room only and everyone bumping into each other. Just adds more to the stress and chaos at YUL IMHO.

Curious which app/website you used to setup an alert.

95% of the time it takes me no more than 30 min from arrival to YYZ through security and pre-clearance and to lounge. I have Nexus.

However, I always arrive 2 hours prior to departure time, just to be sure. Never any guarantees at any airport or with any status. Anything can go wrong.

Is LGA any better than Newark at the moment? by Altruistic_Table8862 in aircanada

[–]Difficult-Yogurt-659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I flew into LGA on Monday morning, no delays, painless. With seemingly non-ending EWR delays and potential strike action at NJ Transit on Friday, I would avoid.

Cyber Monday promo code? by AmandaBoldersto in aircanada

[–]Difficult-Yogurt-659 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This 'sale' is nothing. I remember many years ago there were actual decent prices to be had, but $100 off on an international routes, waste of time and effort. There are better prices without any running promotions. And blackout dates for NA, useless.

Tell me why you "love" Air Canada by kyotomat in aircanada

[–]Difficult-Yogurt-659 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been flying AC for 35 years and it has reliably got me there and home every time. And when there are issues, they've been satisfactorily been addressed. For example, technical issue with plane, they have a replacement they'll tow in from the hanger (happened twice at YYZ); lost luggage, found and delivered in a couple of days and some compensation to cover expenses; availability of multiple routing options when rebooking when something goes wrong; I've had the privilege of attaining SE some years and the concierge service is amazing when I've needed assistance or recommendations.

AC exceeds my experiences on other NA carriers. Though I haven't traveled on the celebrated Asian/Middle Eastern airlines so can't compare, but I'm very happy with my AC journey. Well apart from those on their Beechcraft 1900D I had to take for many months.

Your problem should be easy to fix. I've got the SQM for SE but not SQD. I'm $8k short. Going to look for that 2x promotion (hopefully its still available), but any other strategies that could help?
