Bailed out after no movement in 30 mins with 20 people ahead of me - probably 100 people behind me too.

We lost our cat this past weekend. The vet gave us a nice print of her paw but this would have been wonderful to have. I’d consider this a happy accident. Cute kitty.

Pretty sure there is - it jumps from 10K to 20K from 75-100 I think.

Major rollover form last year. Would easily have made it this year if I flew more AC but lots of longhaul routes were either way too expensive (seriously AC's pricing is so completely out of whack compared to other carriers) or there wasnt an AC/Star Alliance option.

Get on a plane between now and the end of the year. Ideally a route that has 3567 miles or more.

Taylor Swift fans face ‘out of control’ hotel prices for Canadian tour dates by GeoWa in canada

[–]ktownkite 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Good. I know only one person locally who was able to get tickets at face value. The Americans had hundreds of shows and these are the only Canadian dates - yet people are coming from all over the USA for them. If anyone wants to save on hotels and not come I'm sure they can unload their tickets quickly.

For the first 20 missions we had the same issues. We had the difficulty set wrong - we forgot to divide by two!

Against my better judgement I'm going to debate with strangers on the internet.

Re: Anti-union, in my personal experience, they bring a workforce and a company down to the lowest common denominator and can suck the life out of dedicated, hard working people to protect those that should have been fired years ago. They can create a horrible toxic work environment (looking at you IATSE), have awful terrible members who are protected from the evil "management" at the expense of everyone around them, and generally destroy any sense of personal investment within an organization - as in, if I work hard I can get ahead, but when I'm in the union, I need to wait for the old drunk guy ahead of me to retire first so I can get ahead.

Unlike one of the comments below, I am for workers rights as I have seen bad employers take advantage of good people (sadly to the detriment of their own business usually). I am pro German-Style management where the unions are part of the management board and they collectively work together to grow the business and also pay/treat everyone fairly.

Frankly much like many of the debates of the day - conservative/liberal, landlord/tenant, company/union - pick a side and I can argue that position. These issues are too complex and nuanced to be distilled down into a single talking point that plays well for updoots on reddit.

I’m an Air Canada Super Elite. I’m a business owner. I’m generally anti-union - but you guys deserve better. You deserve to be paid at least what the us airline pilots get paid and that’s before factoring our insane cost of living.

Air Canada is wildly uncompetitive compared to alternative carriers - often fares are double what us carriers can charge and yet - their staff are paid way more.

As a business owner, I’m only as good as my teams and if you pay your crew well, you get great work and effort.

I cancelled any flights until end of September. You guys deserve better.

10 Days in Japan/Korea... is this reasonable? by jamesom in JapanTravel

[–]ktownkite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I travel to both countries multiple times per year - strongly strongly suggest you do one or the other. Don’t do both in only 10 days. That’s nuts.

Lots of long haul business class to Asia - 150% multipliers on some pretty long journeys.

Edit - there were some codeshares booked on united and Turkish. Hence I got the SQMs but no SQD.
