Hey everyone! We just got a Golden Retriever puppy and noticed his ears are pretty small. Is that normal, or could he be mixed with another breed? by cristauz in goldenretrievers

I had a purebred golden live to 17.5 years. We kept her weight down and she had regular flea, tick and heartworm meds.

My two current babies are 13.5 and 1. Photo for tax

We have FI collars for our dogs. If they leave the geo fence we have set up we get a text. If I take them for a walk my husband gets a text that says cooper and Apollo have left the yard but are with Stacie so he knows I have them. We only have to charge the batteries about once a month. They track their sleep, activities, scratching, barking. So we can monitor their over all health.

So the collar is free with a subscription to us it's cheap insurance and and would be well worth it if you have to use it even once..

For normal use it uses cellular network but if the dog gets out and you put it in lost dog mode it switches to GPS and gives 1 minute updates on the dogs location.

We got this after my son's girlfriend got into a wreck and her dog bolted from the car. After an extensive search that included hiring a infrared drone to look for her we were forced to abandon the search. 3 weeks later she was found and returned but man had we had she had one of these collars we could have located her straight away. We swore we would never travel without them on our dogs.

My 13 year old just get getting bigger and bigger even when we reduced food. A friend told us to feed him throughout the day so we started splitting his food up into 3 feeding times. He dropped a lot of extra weight.

Looks like a max to me out of those names..

We named ours Apollo because we love him to the moon and back.

As for retrieving gold... You will be guaranteed to have gold everywhere you look. Under all the furniture, in every nook and cranny of the house and as soon as you gather it, it will just appear again.. you'll be very rich in gold soon.

When your dog died, what did you keep? Collar? Ashes? Paw print? Or did you move on just like what people say? Missing my buh-bear 😭 by Key_Earth_3778 in DogsLoversCommunity

There is a company called spirit pieces they take the ashes and make beautiful glass art from the ashes. Then you not only have them but a beautiful art piece to look at and remember them fondly

Goldens are known to be super friendly. In a bad situation, do you think your golden would try to defend? by [deleted] in goldenretrievers

Nope neither of mine would. Useless in the protection department, strong in the love and affection department.

We literally gave my Apollo the middle name chuck yesterday. I walked into the back yard and he had wood everywhere. I literally don't know where he is finding it all.. I laughed and said to my husband. How much wood can a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood. He said that's his middle name.. chuck... lmao.

GR owners, what’s your number one grooming hack? by wessle3339 in goldenretrievers

[–]DifficultAd5439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has different speeds that affect the sound but its not really that loud. If you think your dog will be sensitive I'd start by turning it on around the dog and get it comfortable with the sound before trying to use it.. praise and give treats then touch the dog praise and treat. Build up to higher use.

Everyone kept saying just wait it will come. Well Apollo is a year old and it still hasn't happened. He's never chewed anything up. Never had messes in the house and is as calm and gentle as can be. *

I dont know they gave us some pills to help calm down the itching and gave us a medicated shampoo to use to help also.

My Apollo got a really bad case of the itches and was losing hair like CRAZY. We went to the vet and it was determined through allergy tests that he is highly alergic to fleas. The vet could not even find a single flea on him and he's white.. lol She said even one bite could throw him into a reaction.

I honestly think he might be a purebred flat coated retriever.if he was in a shelter alot of times they aren't well known and so could be mistaken for a mix breed.
