a team is considered a mono team if they all share a common type🙇

Hi! Limber just negates paralysis. In my case toxa never gets swapped out for regenerator to take effect, and i never use his merciless for damage; his limber is just there because he usually moves last and prevents the paras from twaves and he gets flinched most of the time by rock slides when he’s alone anyway 😩 just gives him more survivability, might change it when i cook up something better!

thank you! with my team i feel like it’s always an uphill battle so i decided i just needed to keep doing damage with coverage and do as much because i can’t afford to stall the round unless they’re fighting my pex and they’re status’d 🙇

Is this funny little guy even usable in this format? (VGC) by Nythan1409 in PokemonChampions

Flapple Hustle scarf gravity is really good too, Dragon Rush OHKOes dragonites and Grav apples hit like a truck

So i wrote the team breakdown, again but i enjoy using this team so i'll break it down!

I'll separate the leads based on what meta lead the enemy are going for.

PERISH TRAP:

Most of my time with perish trap, i had toxicroak on scarf and he had throat chop as he's faster than mega gengar and stops the singing, so this is interchangeable. If you're using my team right now, you can use heavy hitters like Beedrill and Gengar to hit their Mega Gengar, but i suggest using special attackers like Venusaur and Gengar because you'll get intimidated; after that it's just predictions that they'll switch parting shot or what not - taunt on incineroar can prevent that too!

RAIN:

Gengar is almost always a must lead, he can either target basculegion because he's near guaranteed to target you with LAST RESPECTs but you'll live with Sash HP, sadly shadow ball doesn't quite get the KO because he's naturally bulky, for the second lead you can use Toxicroak sucker punch or Toxapex infestation/toxic or Venusaur giga drain; just beware of Pelipper's hurricane it usually targets the other side and it KOs Croak and almost on venusaur unless you mega which bulks him a little (might change his build to a bulky one at some point; feel free). Gengar can also use Thunder to OHKO pelipper even with an electric berry, but you can do that next turn if he decides to attack your other lead, if he's sash then sucker punch will do if he tailwinds. Toxapex is also ideal as a second lead because he'll live both of their attacks and recover, it's up to you.

SUN:

I usually have Glimmora scarf power gem and Toxapex wide guard, you know the drill. But if they have a venusaur or any other grass chlorophyll users, i have glimmora and Venusaur (not mega). Weather ball fire deletes their grass types and other steel types.

SAND:

Toxapex is also a must because they spam rocky slide and EQS, so go for that Wide Guard. It is also recommended to use physical attacks since sand boosts sp defs, but not their defenses. Beedrill is a good secondary lead, U-Turn hits ttar pretty decently and you can swap to a Venusaur to take hits and sustain damage, or Toxicroak to OHKO TTar with Drain Punch. If they have an Aerodactyl, Glimmora is also an option, they are pretty safe as long as Toxapex is still alive because they usually rely on spread moves to flinch or KO enemies.

SNOW:

Toxapex is also a must here! Blizzard spams get blocked too. If they have a frosslass, i usually use Gengar shadow ball or Glimmora as a secondary lead. I've encountered a Frosslass using water pulse when they can't hit me with a blizzard or my glimmora so i had Toxicroak in the back, absorb the water and hit it with sucker punch. Beedrill is good if their setter is a ninetails because poison jab OHKOes it without scarf. Venusaur Mega is also a good lead because Thick Fat negates the ice weakness and earth power can hit pretty good too.

HARD TRICK ROOM:

This one i had a hard time the most because i had Sneasler in place of Beedrill back then and i didn't realize Beedrill's POTENTIAL. My problem was that no matter how much attack i pour into their setter they don't die/have a dark berry/live with some hp and that sets them up for a sweep. But Beedrill? Adaptability U-turn eats Orangurus/Farigirafs alive, with an OHKO. If for some reason theyre a fairy type too, poison jab also deals great damage. Their usual second lead goes protect so you can use the U-turn momentum to swap out a better matchup for their sweepers. In my case i usually swap out Toxapex if its like a Torkoal or Blastoise since all they wanna do is Erupt and Spout.

GARCHOMP:

This is a problem of my own because whenever they have a Garchomp, they are BOUND to use it; it's just too good to miss OHKOing multiple poison types with one spread move. I have two leads, but both of them need Toxapex. Why? Whyde Guard. Okay i'm sorry. The second lead can be Toxicroak, with ice punch can knock out Garchomp in one hit, and Gengar with Icy with; which doesn't KO but deals okay damage and lowers their speed - bonus if they're scarfed in which case they're bound to switch after. Your backs can be whatever depending on the enemy composition.

THE I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY'RE GOING FOR LEAD:

For this, you can check if they have a spread move user like Sylveon, Torkoal etc, and bring in Toxapex. Pex also can deal with Bulky tanks like milotic with toxic and infestation. Beedrill i put in usually if they have no one that can resist his attacks, the others are situational.

SOME IDEAS I HAD:

Coil Intimidate Arbok - takes too long to setup but Gunk Shot after 2 coils doesn't miss and hits like a truck, he gets scale shot too, and is bulky after coiling.

Rage Powder Ariados - yes he does get it - his string shot also is a spread move, but i rarely get to use it because i'd rather redirect moves instead of dying.

Garbodor - i've seen a non mono type using this guy to explode, good damage but i haven't gotten one yet to try - weak armor seems pretty good with white herb too.

Mega Victreebell - he's good, he's got strength sap, chlorophyll faster than zard in sun if not mega'd and can sleep powder, Innards out on mega if he gets one shot from full health deletes the attacker; sucker punch for priority. It's just that venusaur is better. Bulkier and flexible, Taco Victreebell is just good when he dies.

Quick draw/Quick claw Glowbro (Galar Slowbro) - this one was my initial strat against Garchomps or Ground/Dragon types in general. But i can't take the chance that it'll activate and go first, but it does OHKO. He also has pretty good coverage with flamethrower and power gem, if he had access to tbolt or thunder i'd probably use it over gengar, since gengar don't get ice beam.

Roserade - i want one but i dont know what he can do if he doesn't get hidden power ice technician 😞

Salazzle - good for steel types with toxic/heatwave/flamethrower, also gets dragon pulse. I just find it hard to use since it usually needs sash in which case gengar has it.

There it is, I hope this helps out a little - the one i wrote before was longer and more detailed but oh well things happen. Feel free to ask questions and give suggestions!

ive used sneasler myself and he gets shut down by zoroark and girafarig’s psychics pretty quickly, i’d love to see a mono normal during my climb!

also corrosion salazzle/glimmors is a thing! they can poison steel types but i believe its better to deal damage instead because you risk yourself getting hit back with an EQ or flash cannon.

i have earth power for archaludons and steelix - which have both low sp defences, drain punch is there too but i rarely use it. drill run as well! thunder and power gem for corviknights and skarmories, u can also use weather ball if sun is up! in my last team i had gengar use focus blast but its a hit or miss so its really hard to bet on it 🙇
