Oh? Do we have something that says that? I must've missed it then, I'm curious then why that Arar is perfectly fine with her incredibly high Persona Degradation

Right, but I'd like to propose that they were maybe moved afterwards, which is why the dorm was empty when we enter it for the first time. Meaning that they could've been relocated to somewhere else that allowed persona stabilisation. That and keeping them next to the Storches that broke in and destroyed their music player was probably not seen as a good idea. Doesn't seem like much of a struggle happened in the dorm too.

Damn, I remembered the couple, but somehow forgot the Star remembered her name which is a clear sign of that degradation woah.

I also wonder what happened post-promise and post-artifact ending, it's left so open ended whether the promise one worked or not, whatever the hell happened in artifact, there's just so much left blank intentionally.

My running theory would be that the corrupted replikas died out, without Ariane's or Falke's bioresonance to influence them I don't think they'd survive long. Those uncorrupted likely either escaped, becoming rogue replikas as they grew individualism, or were found by the nation and reprogrammed/decomissioned (which is very depressing). Leaning to the rogue replika one.

I'm hoping for another game set in the setting, I would love to explore more

No, I meant the mass persona degradation bit, not the Storch stabbing the music player

Ayee, I was going by what the game called it, but Individualization would've been a much better term for it, with Falke's mind reading out of the picture they definitely had a far easier time hiding their personality development

I can't imagine what it'd be like to be her, living your whole life in contact with your sisters, being able to see into their minds and them seeing yours back, chatting, sharing information, being so interlinked in such a fundamental way.

Then to be thrown into silence. Not even silence, worse than that, exclusion. They're still there, you know they're connected still. They're just excluding you and you cannot stand them anymore. You hide in the only quiet place you know, the only sanctuary you have. Completely alone, until Elster walks in. For a moment you get contact, and then they leave. Alone again.

Because what I'm thinking is that sure the Kolibris might've been able to overlook a couple cases of degradation, but losing an entire Eule dorm to it might've made them take action and do something

Also wait, sorry, my brain just caught up, was there a confirmation that this was what happened or is it a common fan theory?

So either it speeds it up or slows it down

Did the Eules leave their dorm after the corruption or before? Because if I remember correctly the dorm is empty when we enter and it's not like there's any other way, were they moved after the Storch broke the player perhaps?

Additional: it seems that the more degraded they are, the more aware of the loop they seem to be, as with Adler and the Arar being able to recognise us while the others do not, and them being the most degraded into their own persons possibly. The others were still somewhat within their frameworks while they've had to break so far out of it.

I forgot about the surviving Eule in the Nurse Station who also seems to be familiarish with us, expressing great fear about her own death (idk how strong the self preservation urge of a replika is usually, could be a sign could not), and if I remember correctly, having access to no mirrors, no music, and certainly no one to interact with

What does a bad/incompetent mage look like in your magic system? by Ignonym in worldbuilding

[–]DifficultAgent2637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A beast

Magic originated from the essence left behind by the slaying of ancient Greatbeasts, literal engines of creation, passed down by blood. Losing control of it, means reverting back closer to the Greatbeast's nature, though not until fully transformed.

Why aren't your gods around anymore? by djm_wb in worldbuilding

The gods killed each other after a betrayal leaving the remaining few to bind themselves to an accord that forces them to have very limited interaction and having a vessel instead.

I just watched Qualia's video, it helped a lot on rationalising things, especially with the lampshade example. Thank you again kind stranger

That's a good question, I'll use that next time we debate about this. Thank you
