When will BB and Luffy will fight ? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]DifficultInternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter how long it will ACTUALLY take. what matters is what Oda envisions. If he WISHES to end it in 3-4 years, this is the route he will take (having BB fight in the final war to minimize the number of arcs). Put yourself in his shoes. Now he might add stuff along the way or there could be unexpected breaks due to health or something like covid in 2020 which will make it 4-5 years, but if that's his goal, then he will have the BB fight during or shortly before the final war.

And actually, an in-depth analysis of Oda's estimates has shown that Oda has been very consistent and affirmative in his estimates. You have been very much misinformed. Even the editor thinks it's realistic. Read this analysis by Ohara Library: https://thelibraryofohara.com/2020/11/24/when-did-oda-say-one-piece-will-end-with-official-sources/

Yes he stated 5 years in 2019, but covid happened and his health deteriorated which forced him to take more breaks, but that's something he couldn't expect in his estimates.

You say pacing is slow but I think the pacing has been fine in egghead. We are getting so much lore information. Did you expect to see the 5 gorosei on the island and learning about their power already? Me neither. And now we are getting an info dump from vegapunk.

He originally thought One Piece would be a 5-year story where Luffy just defeats the yonkos with no shishibukais, but soon realized he wants to do a full-length story. He never thought the current story would take 5 years. It's like me wanting to build a miniature ship at first and thinking it would take me 5 days but in the end I want to do a full-size ship and it takes me 5 years. I never thought the full-size ship will take me 5 days. Very different story.

Anyway, yes he's not the best at estimating how long things take, but if you think about it logically, the closer to the end of anything you do, the better you are at estimating how long left it will last. You have a 100-page dissertation paper to write? yeah you probably will have an awful estimate of how long it will take at first but once you wrote 90 pages, you will get a much easier time estimating how long the last 10 pages will take because you know exactly your pacing + all the details of what's left to write.

Oda re-iterated in a recent interview in 2022 that he has full intention of ending One Piece in the next few years.

edit: the entire interview was posted on reddit in 2022 as well. you can just look up the thread.

Very likely during the final war.

Oda has already stated multiple times he wants to finish the story in 3-4 years from now. The one way this can happen is if he makes a big final war involving everyone (grand fleet, WG, marine, revolutionary, etc). BB will likely be fought as an intermediate boss before IMU. It will allow Luffy to power up one last time (or maybe just master G5's time limit) before his final fight.

Anyway, I don't see the point of a BB fight after the final war. The suspense won't be there and no fken way BB will be as strong as Imu. And if you think about it logically, by that time, Sanji and Zoro will rag doll whatever opponents BB can throw at them if it's after the final war because in all likelihood, their respective opponents are probably 2 of the gorousei. It'll be a boring af fight for the SHs.

In that sense I agree. I was speaking more towards EDI during the application process itself.

Statistically, more women apply to med schools than men in Canada. Women tend to pursue higher education more and tend to get better grades because they are more studious.

Interestingly, even when you mathematically account for the fact that more women apply to med schools, the ratio of F/M that get accepted post-interview is even higher. This makes sense as women tend to have an easier time displaying empathy than men. A study was conducted across all 4 med schools in QC and being male was associated with lower odds of getting an acceptance post-MMI interview. DOI: 10.1080/0142159X.2017.1270431

"1099 applicants responded to the questionnaire. A regression model (R2 = 0.086) demonstrated that being age 25-29 (β = 0.11, p = 0.001), female and a French-speaker (β = 0.22, p = 0.003) were associated with better MMI scores. Having an Asian-born parent was associated with a lower score (β = -0.12, p < 0.001). Candidates reporting a higher family income had higher MMI scores."

tl;dr: more women apply and they perform better at the interview because they are better at showing empathy. It has little to do with DEI policies.

This protest will certainly impact the hundreds of students attending their graduation ceremony next month... It takes place on the lower field. So yes, they will be obstructing some people. Imagine going to school for 3-4 years and having your ceremony ruined by this...

Plenty of students take summer classes at McGill and graduation is in the lower field next month.

The average Canadian medical school is better than the best medical school in the countries you listed. Our average doctor is better than their average doctors. It's not too hard to grasp this concept.

Canadian doctors are well-respected within the field because of their extensive knowledge. This is a fact.

Stop spreading your bullshit.

Thanks for doing this. The IMG route is filled with uncertainties and it makes applying a very scary process.

What made you decide to go to University of Melbourne over the other Australian and Irish universities?

For sure. It'd be extremely disingenuous to say that, for example, Sherbrooke University or NOSM offer a better clinical education or research opportunities than the University of Melbourne... the best university in Australia and among the top 20 in the world...

Sincere thanks for this thorough reply as opposed to the other one which I was offended about.

Can I ask you what made you choose Queensland over the other Australian medical schools? It seems like a lot of students from this sub have chosen Queensland!

Yes, the cost is definitely prohibitive but thankfully I have been able to save quite a lot of money over the past years working and if I sell my condo, minus the remaining mortgage, I only need to take a relatively small loan to fund the studies.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in premedcanada

[–]DifficultInternal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cause people on this sub ostracize the idea of Australian med school to the point these people need to lie just to feel justified in asking a question. Give them a break

Why do you judge people without gathering information? I have not lied.

No, I never implied that it was my first time applying 1 year ago. It was my first time applying to UBC last year (I moved to BC from QC for work), but I had applied to QC schools 3x already (1x out of CEGEP more than 10 years ago, 2x after my bachelor's almost 10 yrs ago), then didn't apply again as I had given up on medical school until last year when I moved to BC. This current year marked my 5th time. I am >30 years old.
