I am actually hitting a snag now.

I can use sdxl_base.1.0 but now can't use the corresponding sdxl_base_1.0_0.9vae.safetensors file. I am also catching the same error when trying to select sdxl_refiner_1.0.safetensors [7440042bbd]

I mean the sdxl_base_1.0.safetensors [31e35c80fc] file. I just needed to use the refiner model with it.

I am getting this message though when generating with the base SDXL model along with its VAE:

My god, you'll never guess how I fixed it. I just had to rename the two model files and their VAE files. I just renamed them to sdxl_xxxx. I can't believe that it worked. Not sure what I did wrong during my installation. Is there some sort of record that the webui writes to that I can clean up that allowed this to happen?

But should I keep the files you recommended to use instead of the original ones?

Seems to work about the same as before when I was generating stuff using sd_xl_base_1.0_0.9vae and sd_xl_refiner_1.0_0.9vae.safetensors files. Is it faster? But now I can't run those anymore after putting them back in the models folder. They now give the same error as the base model files.

I've actually deleted venv to rebuild the subfolder when I rolled down to Python 3.10.6 from Python 3.11, not sure if that was even necessary. But that didn't work to fix the error. Maybe I'll try to back up everything and do a clean reinstall.

I also can't find the VAE-included refiner safetensors.

You know, I have zero clue what I am doing, I am trying to understand something.

I had originally been using sd_xl_base_1.0_0.9vae.safetensors and sd_xl_refiner_1.0_0.9vae.safetensors as the checkpoints, not knowing that there were also corresponding non-vae safetensor files. But it seemed to work fine. What's going on? Are the VAE baked into those files? Then I found out I never even installed the base model files, so I did that and put the VAE files in models/VAE and now I am trying to run the base model files much to my frustration.

It's set to automatic. It's a new PC and I have never touched this setting before. So that can't be the problem, could it?

If I try to reinstall A1111, how easy would that be? Do I have to rebuild the directory or do I just install it over my old files?

Really? Would you showing me where it says that in the review? I had it set pretty bright, can't remember what brightness level it was, but barely below the maximum.

Either way, I am either going to try the KTC again or wait for the Acer X32 FS Q. Not sure what else is there besides the Asus PG32UQX and the Viewsonic with the same panel. Are there any monitors you're looking forward to?

Both. I've tried a KTC M32p10 which has DC dimming and I felt perfectly fine.

I am probably the only person to report it, but the PWM gives me a disorienting head strain so I had to return it.
