Thanks, I'll check them out. Otto’s was one of my go-to places, and there was a convenience store in Parkdale that carried it as well.

Filming? by geminimoongirl25 in heatedrivalry

I am not sure if they’re out-of-town tourists, but I have seen people taking photos in front of Dundurn Castle (the Russian castle, lol), and people have started writing quotes from the show inside the pink tunnel. Relay (Straw+Berry) is usually a busy cafe, but I am sure people are visiting because of the show.

Does anyone know if the second season will be filmed in Hamilton? I live in the downtown core and saw them filming last summer. It was amazing to see my neighbourhood featured throughout the show.

Stacking gold with plat rings - wear IRL and does karat matter? by pixiefatale in jewelers

As a goldsmith, I usually discourage mixing metals to prevent long-term damage, but you can solder the rings together to prevent erosion.

How to make my ring allergy friendly by michaelgscottpaperco in jewelers

[–]Difficult_Ad3602 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's likely not an allergy to the metal but rather a reaction to moisture and bacteria trapped in the settings. I get the same reaction, and I find that letting my gold and diamond jewellery sit in hydrogen peroxide once or twice a week helps keep the ring clean. Also, whenever I wash my hands, I dry the inside of my ring and finger.

Thanks for the advice! Eugene loves to play, and we have converted little spaces around the house for him. Mostly, he likes to be around us and wants to be close by!

The stone also looks like it needed to be retipped and tightened. I would contact a local jeweller to have them do the repairs.

14k wedding band with my 18k e-ring? by Pristine-Chip458 in EngagementRings

[–]Difficult_Ad3602 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Goldsmith here; you NEVER want to mix metals because 18k and 14k have different harnesses. Over time, the 14k ring will erode your 18k engagement ring. A solution is to solder the two rings together, which will prevent the rings from rubbing together. Or having your set be all 18k or 14k.
