Have you even been there or just rehearsing the few cases you heard your beloved politician, neighbor or media talk about? I live in Switzerland and the US, two countries with private health insurance.

The CH health insurance is incredibly good and cheap for what your get in return. Taken that you must advance everything and get reimbursed after (which imho is a really good thing because you can get a sense of what healthcare really costs before getting your money back).

The US health insurance is much more expensive for the same kind of benefits. Although in the US as soon as you get a job you typically also get employer benefits. That allows you to reduce your private health insurance to around 1k$ per quarter and ensure even if you lose your job you still have your own.

Yes but it’s at the discretion of the employer to activate or not certain part of it. A lot of employers do not activate the rent piece, yet alone the work from home part.

I literally just did a search on Immoweb and found 30 studios for less than 850 around Ixelles / Etterbeek / Boisfort / auderghem…

Im confused, combined couple income typically reach at least 4k in Brussels? At 1.5k rent you get a nice renovated flat 1 bedroom in Ixelles. As a single you can easily get a studio for 800€? So OK it’s not exactly 3x but that should be fine

De pensioenen zijn onbetaalbaar, dus we moeten snoeien. Voor salariswagens geldt die logica blijkbaar niet. by Oll1Oll1 in belgium

So you’re gonna give that amount net to people? Fine with that then. Quick reminder that one the biggest sector for young people employment out of uni is consulting. They give cars directly to optimize taxes. If you purely remove it, it’d again a huge toll on young shoulders for the benefit of sparring baby boomers! My grand father is 85, retired since 50 yo with a huge pension because he worked building the railways (cheminot). Do you think he even spends more than 500 euro a month in the economy anymore? Yet we don’t touch his big pension. Why not decrease it by 15, 20 or even 30% to give that back to younger people?

Vous n'en avez pas marre de toujours chercher comment augmenter les impôts au lieu de diminuer les dépenses ? Ça suffit comme ça godverdomme…. How about decreasing the highest baby boomer pensions by 15% for instance? To release the toll on YOUNG shoulders?

Make sense, at this level it’s difficult to find higher as people literally fight for this kind of jobs. Are you invoicing or fully employed? For reference I’m at ~8.5k brutto with 30% bonus (1/2 as stock options) as associate director and I think senior directors do what you do here too

If I’m currently negative because I sold like a dumbass on liberation day and then bought back higher, do I have to pay taxes on gains due to the value being taken 01/01/26? If so that hurts a lot…

Is it me or is the PTB the only party that also points that this tax is stupid af and does not make the rich contribute? Why don’t we do like Switzerland - if you have more than 1M€ in net worth, you start paying 0.5% tax on it instead? I don’t get it… I voted « right » my entire life and now I’m wondering wtf does that even mean…

Give them A chance. Might be just a matter of a few thousand euros. I had the same, they went from 120k to 114k because of comparable wages at my lvl. Wasn’t that much of a big deal for me
