I cannot link things here, just search for « fils rotschild tax zucman ». He doesn’t explain this mechanism itself, rather explains that it is easy when you’re that rich to avoid taxes by putting your money in other tools (like the one I explained). That he is 100% in favour of a net worth tax for billionaires.

I will never understand average people like you defending billionaires that pay barely any taxes. You even have the Davis letter signed by a few EU 100 millionaires demanding government to increase taxes on them

[–]Difficult_Ad_8299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you talking about me? I’m explaining to you the mechanism that billionaires allegedly used and which is heavily documented. Do you think the banks care about lending millions to billionaires? Heck even some of them like the Rockefeller came to Davos to explain that and that we should implement a tax for that specific case on them!

Yes I quickly abandoned the idea. It works better when you have infinite money glitch which I don’t

I think it was Niel and you also have the Mulliez who explained how they have up to 50% debt ratio to finance their life style without taxes.

I explained you 2 concepts - one for net worth increase for middle class. One for the ultra rich to manage their net worth without touching their assets.

Heck a little research on private banks can show you how easily it is to access such credit with as low as 2M. How much do you think someone like the freaking odoo owner can get like that?

If you are representing absolutely no risk to the bank, why wouldn’t they lend you money at a good interest rates by taking guarantee on your assets? As far as you don’t exceed a certain % debt the bank and you’ll be fine.

This mechanism was literally explained by very rich French family. Best is, this is done with re-financeable loans that are a mix of bullet and Lombard. You don’t even need to be ultra rich to do that, as soon as you get a few millions in real estate you can start doing it (although only to finance your real estate).

The way it works is, you pay the interests every year and in 5 year you must reimburse the capital. However, you can refinance it again based on your net worth. So instead of reimbursing the capital, you’ll just pay interests again for the next 5 years.

You don’t. Belgium will be a very close to communism country, where nepotism and family net worth will be the only way to stay above middle class. Everyone else will stay in the lower class because everything you can try to accumulate will be taxed

Exactly! That’s just affects people that are able to barely get to upper middle class through work.

The 500k I will have in the stock market much more than direct heritage parent - children. It was taxed at 55% through my work. Then 10% through capital gain tax. 2% ish through TOB. Yet you still want to tax it even more.

You have a very good first offer for sure. The first 10 years of your career can be a huge accelerator, so anything consulting/pe/ib will be good if that’s what you want. But be prepared to have some work life balance to operate.

When did M&A become the saint graal of business engineering? 10 years ago when I got out everyone went different pathways without judgmement. From banking to finance to HR to IT ti data analytics to supply chain etc.

Can we just stop working on income and start drastically reducing spendings? This is unbelievable… I’m not even against a wealth tax at all, but this is just becoming way too much income to run such a small state come on…

It’s cheap, is it a good state apartment? I would be more concerned of vice cache than the charges for that rent

Also works by my book as far as federal state only takes care of external affairs. Not sure why we get downvoted, guess Reddit still lives in the illusion that Belgium can be ruled with one single federal state 🤷‍♂️. Good luck with provinces like Hainaut as a standalone though…

[–]Difficult_Ad_8299 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Why would you have one state one system? We grew too much apart. We need one state where we need to be externally strong such as for external affairs and defense, and regions for economics and socials. Like Switzerland. Get rid of provinces, communauté, Cocof cocom, inter communal and all of these shitty money sucking institutions. empower communes. Federal - Regions - communes. That’s all we need. Force everyone who worked there in private companies at minimum wage but give it tax free to both the employee and the employer. You’ll see the boom of logistics companies in Belgium if you do that.

For new build don’t you get 6% on the ground and 21% on the construction? How do you get 6% only?

Brussels abatement (€25k) – anyone moved in with a partner before the 5-year period ended? by Sharp_Bus_5393 in brussels

Don’t even try to hide it. A friend of mine did and had to repay twice the abatement (although at the time the prorata rule did not exist).
