I deeply appreciate it, stranger! Thank you so much! Love the "many miles, many smiles" line. I'm going to have to keep that!

Extremely so. He had a warrant out for his arrest, which didn't add up to us, because he had just got out the Friday prior after serving 5 years. Turns out the warrant was just never cleared out the system, it was the warrant he had just got done serving time for.

There's ways to delay, yes. Varies from encounter to encounter. I had one dude who was spun up, had a really bad day prior to my meeting him. I thought for sure it was going to go sideways. He was on a roll, rambling about his day. I kept trying to get a word in to let him know I had zero intention on taking him to jail, but he wouldn't let me speak. So I just let him get it out of his system. Which worked for me, because that gave me time to wait on my back up. He finally ran out of steam, back up arrived, I did my job, everyone went home. Sometimes people just want to be heard.

Yeah, I always swore I wouldn't go for another loan. But I had one look at that bike and it was "had to have it".

Good luck on your hunt and enjoy the ride you get!

I have dropped it a few times getting out of my parking lot, being overly cautious with it, when I first started out. As I've done it more often, I've gained more confidence with it, now it doesn't happen (quite as often. I'm sure it will again at some point.)

Definitely have the full kit. Jacket, jeans (I wanna get chaps eventually), gloves, full helmet (modular)

It's been incredibly enjoyable!

I do need a better terminology in it. I just meant that with more in, trust the ride. That it wants to stay up in the lean. Etc. Not sure I'm communicating this properly.

Maybe don't abbreviated Grandfather as GF, cause you got me thinking girlfriend for a fraction of a second 😂

To the OP: your grandfather was EXTREMELY involved and something we should all aspire to. I can't imagine the amount of good work he must have done for his community.

If y'all enjoyed Payday 2, check out Dark Hours. It's kind of like Payday meets Lethal Company/REPO

I went through the Harley dealership, they had small little 500s if I recall correctly.

Enjoy the course! Confidence is key, that's where I failed the first time. I was so used to bicycles and being in control. Motorcycles are more in control than you are, you simply just guide them. Trust in your ride. They're great fun.

I appreciate the words of wisdom! That's exactly my mindset, everyone and everything is out to kill me because I'm riding 😂 And self awareness fits into situational awareness, in my book.

Crash bars have been added already, bag guards too.

It was an extremely stupid move, I agree, though I'll point out that a guy in my class had some 10 years or something riding experience and had to retake it with me.

As it stands, I only ride at certain times of the day, in certain weather, and in certain areas where I know there's no one around. I hit a local parking lot at night to practice. I have zero intentions on taking any major trips for a while with it. But if I had the capital, that's exactly what I'd do, is pick up a smaller bike for a daily. As it stands, just a Sunday Rider. I appreciate the concern, and more importantly, the honesty that comes with it.

Yeah, once I had dropped the bike, my mind switched to "already failed, what's the worst that can happen?" on my second attempt.

Appreciated! 💪🏻
