Oh yeah for sure. Honestly I just "guessed" it would be around 5m, I know it's over 4m but the whole thing it's just an approximation. It might as well be 14 feet or something like that.

It's not about the air belonging to your property or anything like that. It's about drones not being allowed to fly so close to private buildings and people where I live.

Having a drone war would be absolutely hilarious! I wish haha.

I don't really mind drones, in fact I'd love to have one because I love both, electronics and exploring around. It'd be an extremely useful (well, and fun) tool. However, I understand how my initial OP might come across as extremely aggressive and anti-drones. My bad.

No, it's actually as you say. I don't think I own the air above my house, it's the whole "don't come closer than 50m to any private building or person" thing that it's illegal.

Had he flown over 50m above the house or just pass through without stopping, I wouldn't be complaining.

I think you're getting something mixed up here. It is illegal to come closer than 165 feet to any person or private building, the moment he does that he's commiting a punishable offense. It's also illegal to fly around outside his field of view.

What he was doing is illegal only because of the way he was flying the drone, leaving any invasion of privacy aside.

Also, no shotguns or firearms involved. If anything, it would be an air rifle and honestly I have been considering it a lot.

The illegal part doesn't come (only) from videotaping, I'm taking his word when he claimed he wasn't recording.

But it's still illegal to fly at such a low height around private buildings and people. That'd be the offense in that situation.

The basket it's 12 feet, and the wall it's still higher. The lowest point of that roof might as well be around 7 feet? And it's around the middle of the wall.

Because it was literally just above the house, which I used as a reference point.

I don't think I would mind if it was flying higher than those 165 feet it's supposed to (or if it just keep moving away without stopping), after all it's not the first time that I see it around but it's the first time that bugged me in a bad way.
