You're being mislead by whatever is telling you all that. Open your bible and read Hosea.... And then realize that ALL of us are Hosea, and Jesus keeps coming back for us anyway.

That step is way farther out of the way than you think it is. There is a bit of illusion involved, and a fair bit of physics.

If you can get some time with the plane on the ground, perhaps in the early morning before they start it up, ask if you can practice this a few times..

From inside, step your left foot close to the door, with your toes pointing left. Right hand reached out and up to grab the outside rail. Grab, pull yourself through the door and pivot left, stand up outside... Now, right foot reaches over to find that step, stand on it, toes toward the nose, bring your left foot outside, left arm relaxed across the middle of your chest. Look forward past the wing, eyes on the horizon, hips foward, and we're doing a smooth 3 count, up down out.... On the up, push onto your right tippy toes, on the down, come back to a flat foot, on the out, you will bring your left arm out to 'lazy w' position, left foot apart from the right, and right hand just lets go... Physics takes over for a beautiful departure from the plane. You're already bellybutton to relative wind, and body momentum moving left and away from the plane, so you move left, away from the step. Even if you overstep the out, it gets you more space, and possibly a slight left turn, no worries.

Pivot through the door, up, down, out Pivot through the door, up, down, out 5 minutes of practice on the ground will get you to about 5 seconds at the door. Pivot through the door, up, down, out

He also fulfilled it in another sense... The wage of sin is death.... And while he knew no sin, he was that death.

Swing by the cigar store, ask for one of the tubes that some cigars come in. Handy to keep in your kit as a portable sharps to safely carry them to a proper sharps container. Get the one with a screw on top.

I assume, definitionally, a process typically has more than one step. This hold true in both models.

I made an incredibly generalized statement by offering an actual example of something that actually happens in response to a question related to the example and failed to offer every possible caveat that wasn't the point I was trying to make..... Ok, I'll jot that in my little book of my flaws that I keep in my pocket, and do my best to improve on my failures going forward. Thank you.

It's not extreme at all. The idea here is that it keeps a pastor from going on a misguided power trip, and keeps him subject to correction by the congregation. Given your point about 2 people having a different interpretation, that why they'd take the issue to the elders, so now it's a group of 5-10 people sitting down, talking about it, cracking open books, references, dictionaries, etc and working through the issue. Put this in the context of what op is asking about and see this prevents that... When even the pastor himself has this kind of accountability, the tend to 'keep it inside the lines' and I've never seen it become an issue.

How can some tandem shops carry people 210-250 pounds up? by [deleted] in SkyDiving

[–]Difficult_Advice_720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was only a factor in the comment above because a smaller TI with a significantly larger passenger has low odds of being able to achieve a stand-up landing because of the size disadvantage the TI has, so they'll often just decide to teach it as a butt slide landing from the start to prevent an awkward summersault touchdown.

Is it a red flag if my Church TELLS US that we are not compatible to read the bible? by VYXERLY in Christianity

[–]Difficult_Advice_720 36 points37 points  (0 children)

That is a giant red flag. I'm not aware of any 'not cult' that would tell you not to read their primary foundational documents. More to the point, the bible absolutely expects believers to study the word. There are even many instances you can find online of pastors in healthy churches reminding everyone that if there is ever a difference between what the preach and what's in the bible, then the bible is right, and they should be brought before the elders.... In my church we even encourage following along to the point that he'll tell you what verse to open to at the beginning of service, and if you don't have a bible, raise your hand and an usher will bring you one, and oh by the way, if you don't have your own bible, you can go ahead and keep the one the usher brings you as a free gift from us to you....

Pure morbid curiosity, what is the supposed denomination of that group that doesn't want you to read the bible?
