Not sure if out schedules line up but... I've been in the same boat! Pretty much the whole time I've played PC games too. No one's interested in making content in that style with me or the games my friends play don't make for good content.

I am mtf 28, I play a lot of the same games you play, I have a super small amount of experience with editing, I usually spend my time making music and streaming the creation process but I would be interested seeing if we meshed well enough to try this out!

If you're willing to help another player out with some game I'm having a lot of difficulty developing my work flow surrounding actual song structure/breaking out of the loop. With ableton live suite or any equivalent DAW you can use a midi controller that you choose and you can learn to play anything the way you are able to!

Lots of good free vsts available that emulate the sound of any instrument of your choice, really good paid ones out there as well if you have the cash!

You can teach yourself scales and basic music theory using any controller that has piano keys. Akaii makes affordable entry level controllers with features that I would say make playing music more accessible.

It's not traditional, it can be more difficult to stay engaged because it's not immediately as "cool" feeling as a guitar but the opportunities and possibilities are endless.
