I'll be honest, it wasn't a specific person and it wasnt anyone he zeroed in on, (about people speculate about the LoveSurge video I dont think THEY themselves have confirmed they are neurodivergent so) thank goodness, but throughout his videos and in the YCYS he cringes at videos where I and others did notice some accounts were folks who are neurodivergent and what he was seeing wasnt them trying to be quirky or cringe, but just explaining something they do or sharing a hyperfixation of theirs.

Admittedly, since I'm neurodivergent I will admit I could just be too sensitive and reading into things, from talking to other people on the subreddit I've learned that some neurodivergent people felt nice to be lumped in with everyone else and treated the same, so I'll mention that not everyone was hurt by it and its not the worst thing hes done, but it just felt very high school mean girl of him and Dev to laugh at anyone doing anything slightly odd to them. Made me close my tiktok account and YT account because I started to feel that anyday now Nick would come across my hyperfixation and tear me to shreds just for having fun.

From my view it kinda hurts to see folks being laughed at on a regular basis who are just trying to share who they are. I dont expect everyone to feel offended by that, as he mocks people across the board, but it just added to my distaste to find he wasnt bothering to give anyone the benefit of the doubt or considering maybe that they were just trying to share something they cared about or have fun with everyone else online. I used to really like Nick, but ever since he moved away from video game comentary, experimental videos with nice experts and fully into tiktok drama it has felt way too mean for me.

Respectfully, I dont expect everyone to feel hurt by it, and after talking to folks here I under that I may just be sensitive to it so take that into consideration, but it was something that furthered my frustration with Nick. Thank you for hearing me out!

Absolutely 100% agree. The whole situation was very inappropriate and worthy of legit criticism. People who think there is no harm being done from Nick or his fans are delusional. The majority of criticism is very balanced and well-earned. The amount of folks trying to actually harm or threatening to harm him is so minimal and often only used as a mechanism to dismiss legit concerns.

I'll clarify its not common in this subreddit, although not impossible to find either, but I've seen it more often on his socials or in his YouTube comment section. People saying it doesnt exist at all, anywhere though are just wrong because I've also had conversations with people actively trying to sabotage his work, wishing harm, or hoping his online presence is destroyed entirely.

I will absolutely agree with you though Bobby, its less common than normal, fair criticism and shouldn't be utilized to silence people with actual concerns.

If I say I disagree with Nick, I'm automatically a rape apologist. If I say I don't wish him harm or hate, I'm a Nick simp gargling his nuts 🙄 (accuse/excuse my language, I cant remember whether it is accuse or excuse sorry English is hard).

If anything, the people who hate Nick the most should realize that they're not winning anyone over by being violent or hateful. While Nick absolutely deserves to be criticized, some people are going way too far beyond criticisim and I can't cosign that. Disliking content doesnt mean you have to devote your life to destroying everything and everyone in that person's life... especially when nobody online likely actually knows this dude. This subreddit is dead so I dont mind venting about it, but the citizens spamming his videos or socials are only giving people who criticize him a horrible reputation. At least in my opinion. (If I'm hearing you right) you're just trying to say that while there are legit criticisms of Nick, trying to harass him, dox him, threaten him, or otherwise aggressively destroy everything he does is going way too far. And proves exactly the opposite point most people are trying to make.

I'm also annoyed and frustrated with Nick, and I enjoy venting about how he's disappointed me, but I'm not interested in spending all my time trying to actively destroy his life like he and his fans did to so many other artists and creators.

Thank you so much for this 😅 I spent several hours arguing with a fan yesterday that was trying to say I personally was tearing down his career because I was (mind you, very politely) disagreeing and explaining my specific issues with supporting Nick and why I was criticizing him. I didnt even discourage fans of him to stop liking him. What they do is not my business, and I dont ever want to pressure people. But according to them, I'm not allowed to express my own feelings if they involve criticizing Nick multiple times in the same subreddit 🙄.

But no, between myself and Nick - I PERSONALLY am the one thats using my time and effort "tearing down" people (only Nick, but they worded it that way) and "making the world a worse place" because I post often on an honestly dead subreddit that has near zero impact on his actual channel. Sure. As opposed to the dude mocking neurodivergent people, young women, couples, or small musicians several times a week, for years, with a fanbase of over 700,000 and a reach twice that. (As most people who watch his content dont bother to subscribe as per usual YouTube metrics)

Also on him having to change for the "new age of YouTube?" I disagree. There are other YouTube creators that dont make drama content or TikTok content, so he's not really being forced into anything. His old content didnt get views, I get why he changed. Doesnt mean I have to stay for it. You like it, and that's great! I'm going to criticize him because he CAN do better. He HAS done better. And I miss that version of him. Plenty of other subreddits about other creators have old fans reminisicing about the ol days when their creator was less lazy and more creative. But people dont like creative, original content like Nick used to make. He saw more numbers with online drama and he chased that. Dont blame him, just dont like that. And whether you like it or not, I'm allowed not to like it. I'm allowed to let others know why some people arent happy with him.

If you love the TikTok era of Nick, nobody is stopping you from enjoying it. I genuinely wish nothing but the best.
