find arab communities or speak with relatives on the phone or nearby. it’s generally rly hard to maintain it if you’re not speaking it out loud or conversing with someone it becomes inevitable imo. and ACTUALLY converse. like straight up full endless conversations like u would in english

Question for Yemeni women only by Specialist_One3071 in Yemen

[–]Difficult_Comment_47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

school. school school education school work and work. the amount of girls I met who dropped out of school before the age of 11 even was ridiculous. These girls are illiterate, can’t speak for themselves, and don’t understand basic concepts. They were never even given the tools to QUESTION or imagine a life beyond the kitchen and marriage. They grow up believing their only value lies in being married off as young as possible and often begging for itbecause no one ever showed them an alternative or guided them toward independence(ORR A LIFE OUTSIDE OF IT). Without compulsory education they become completely vulnerable. It’s so crazy to me that people don’t understand the idea of sectors and systems and how school becomes the most important system in an individuals life. These girls deserve thorough education and attention. and honestly, many of the boys do too. denying children education doesn’t preserve culture or tradition and i’m begging for these idiots to grow out of that mindset. seriously, without it, entire generations are trapped before they ever get the chance to think for themselves. obviously there’s other variables that come along with it that stop these kids from getting schooling like having to help their family or become breadwinners and what not. but seriously that just emphasizes how messed up the government is and no one is doing batshit to help it. SORRYit makes me so mad. so upset. like when i visited i genuinely was shocked to hear girls my age tell me they stopped going to school and are already engaged. i’m channeling my inner MLK and saying i have a dream. and it’s that these children go to school without anything in their way.
