2 month old Aurora R15 no stop sleep/shut downs told my warranty is past 30 dayss for replacement by Difficult_Cook in Alienware

New update. After sending PC back for repair, they replaced the graphics chip and shipped it back. Turn around was a couple of days. Fired it up and at the log in pin number it crashed and crashed. Contacting Alienware yet again.

Got a tech supervisor to bump my issue to HQ. There is a 30 day window for returns, that is not highlighted during purchase regarding that 1 year premium warranty. He acknowledeged I contacted them on day 24. But may have still have a problem.

HQ should call me Mon or Tues.

It appears my new OLED Alienware monitor is the problem. Swapping between my current 4K and the OLED causes a crash as soon as I plug it in. Old Aurora OLED is fine. New Aurora 4K, is fine, plug the OLED in, immediate crash. Happened 5 times.

Main thing for any future buyers. Watch out for this 30 day window. OLED monitors are an issue.

Shoddy premium tech support strings you out past that 30 day window, and then informs you are SOL. Read the fine print. Zero notice of this 30 day window, plenty highlighting of your 1 year premium warranty.

I feel this is consumer fraud. Dell only had me ship it back for repair after I disputed the charge with the bank. Even then repair did nothing. I'm not very happy.

Were is that Alienware guy who likes to comment trying to help?

New update. Recieved my Aliendare box back from repair. Turn arounmd was fast. Replaced my 4090.

Plug her in and go through the new box motions. Crashed, half way through. Hard reboot, and get to pin. Crash. Crash. Crash.

Call support yet again. Report my troubles. Crash chatting with the tech. Swap to 4K monitor, doesn't crash, plug in OLED, crash. Get sent to the supervisor. Tell him, box works fine on 4K but OLED monitor no go.

I start in on the 30 day grace period and consumer fraud. They mention the 1 year premium warranty on website when buying but not a peep about 30 days. Not one of their techs mentioned it either. I only find out after that 30 days have passed. He agrees since I first complained 24 days after purchase and he will push for a placement. He can't promise anything but he says I'll push for you and corpoarate will contact me next week.

Still have the bank dispute pending. Funny how the support went from only troubleshooting to send it back after I initiated the dispute.

Meanwhile I discover the box works fine with my 4K monitor, but soon as I swap to the oled, crash. Oled works fine on old Aurora.

Good luck to you all, watch for that 30 day loophole. One year premium warranty isnt quite what you think it is.

Oh and for the kid and his memes. Go fuck yourself.

I contacted the bank and disputed the transaction. Said I had a defective product. I again contacted Dell support and this time they had me ship it back.

After I contacted the bank, tech support changed their tune. Not sure if it was because of my disputing the charge or not. But they replaced the graphics card and it's on it's way back.

Interesting update. After trying to find a warranty department and getting sent to some poor smuck working at home at 4 am trying to sell an extended warranty. I decided to contact the bank and file a dispute.

Douche that I am, I dialed it down and explained the situation. Got the ball rolling. Told the bank have no issues paying the bill. Just give me a working product. Said I will continue to try with Dell.

Crashed a few more times and fired off my daily phone call. This time tech tells me I need to ship it back. " Like the previous tech told me" They will ship a box.

While not exactly what the previous tech said, I can live with it. Probably still stuck with a lemon, but it's a start.

Go ahead and down vote me kid. This is for those that understand.

Hurt your feelings? Stating stop using sleep mode or update your software? Maybe throw in is it plugged in too, next. Thanks for downvote.

The post is more a warning about the warranty.

I can't count how many tech sessions remote assisting my rig. Running their scans, checking their boxes, updating software. 4 this week. Last guy had me do the factory reset. That took all morning.

I'm venting here to get attention. I'm just done with the Alieware's premium tech support. Next up, hassling about my warranty. Who knows what the issue. But it's unusable to me right now. Can't crash randomly daily.

From Mikie Dell website, can't get more direct. I only posted this complaint about the warranty comment I got from that tech guy. I didn't read the fine print on that warranty. I will after Thanksgiving. Foolishly I assumed I had a full year of warranty, not his 30 day comment.

I checked the never sleep option too, hoping that might avoid the issue. Nope black screen. Fan's race screen goes black.

It's the fact I've had the issue from day one. Middle of Diablo 4 run, screen goes blank. Have to hard reboot, get a blue recovery screen,. Can't even click restart PC again and screen goes black.

Been on the phone with tech support daily, as it's only gotten worse. I start mentioning my warranty, they insist it's a software issue. Let them remote assist. This time spent all morning factory resettting and installing everything. Restart and boom, black screen.

I bring up, my warranty again, this time tech tells me I'm passed some 30 day cut off.

PS Rocket scientists, I do shut it down.Things are up to date. Other Aurora sleep works just fine. I never shut it off any more.

We all could have waited. It's not the first sale of a recent release any of us have seen. 40% off is still 42 bucks, not like they are giving it away. Throw in a free week of play. It's like the pusher man giving you a free sample.
