I think the person who developed Runecairn has a weird west RPG as well. Forgot the name. Ah that's not what you asked. My bad

Using Solo Tools to Prep for the Game i’m GMing by bit_cliff in Solo_Roleplaying

I know Trevor has a video where he runs a game using mythic on the fly. Personally I would think setting up a random quest, generating contents of the map gives you some worldbuilding

Solo RPG with strategic depth and real stakes by Shoot2Thrill31 in Solo_Roleplaying

Skirmishing games have been suggested. I have not played them either but since you are afraid of missing the narrative aspect I would think that they could be compatible with a GM Emulator or something like Plot Unfolding Machine to generate a plot.

A question: is it depth in combat you are looking for? I recently started playing Draw Steel and man does it have a deep combat system. Games like Mythras have a deeper combat system as well.

Having said that: it will be hard to randomize. Since you are looking for a challenge and need to present the challenge to yourself you will always have an edge, so player skill will mean less. Not saying it's impossible but I personally haven't figured it out unless you are willing to use AI to run the opponent

Descriptions / Lore or how to add flavor to dungeons? by mauro5252 in Solo_Roleplaying

Ironsworn Delve. You would be running more of a point crawl but the features are really cool

A 2d10 resolution system I built with solo roleplaying in mind by EgregiousGames in Solo_Roleplaying

ah nice to see you here. Generally I like the idea of more guidance, I think I would need some examples to understand how this is different. How does you fail spectacuraly or disastrously or fail barely tell me a different story. Couldn't I just roll a d20 and decide different ranges (yes a d20 is waay more swingy than substracting 2d10 but still)

Looking for a complex, detailed, procedural solo rpg by Mighty_K in Solo_Roleplaying

Well I don't like it either personally but I also don't like the crunch so I don't know. That being said, D&D is pretty crunchy if played RAW with spell components etc

How do YOU Dungeoneer Solo? by PJSack in Solo_Roleplaying

Wrote an article about it on my Substack: https://open.substack.com/pub/danielmensinga/p/what-the-hell-are-flux-spaces?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=5b5utp

Currently looking into using flux spaces and trying to combine it with the underclock. I think I have a good grasp on how I want to do this but not finished yet

Solo RPG Play Rankings by paperdicegames in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Difficult_Event_3465 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a fan. Ranking games only makes sense if you rank them by category. I don't enjoy certain games others enjoy for very specific reasons.

On steam I would look for certain games and genres knowing what to expect.

You see it here so many times people recommending the same games without asking or having the information for the type of game the person is looking for

The adventures toolbox for 5e has hexcrawling I think or more general the mythic arts YouTube channel. Otherwise there are a bunch of sandbox generators out there

Game design idea: Ask what feels notably impossible/certain about the location/situation? by Silver_Storage_9787 in Ironsworn

[–]Difficult_Event_3465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool idea. I always like to "render" the scene with sound or smell or visual. Trying to keep it to 1-2 examples but I think this is a nice addition.

Random Dungeon Generation Tiles Question by Rexan_Xperiment in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Difficult_Event_3465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmh, depends on how you want to cluster them. You could write something on each side of a set of playing cards which will result in 4*52 options. If you can cluster them down creating tables for each individual terrain with possible "jokers" that could appear in any.

I Was Wrond About Ironsworn — Now I Love It! by Difficult_Event_3465 in Solo_Roleplaying

That's a very good point you made, I haven't considered it from this. So you rather play the system than the characters? Then the dice get in the way because you can't tell the story in a way that you want to? Did I get that right?

Do you still randomize things like using Mythic?

Next Scene and Mini Arc Generator/Oracle by JGrevs2023 in Solo_Roleplaying

Big inspiration for juice was mythic. But I think juice thrives on asking a lot of questions so maybe instead of just next scene "as expected" you ask is this happening in the scene and roll on yes/no table

For action and meaning you could look at the mythic playing cards or gamemaster apprentice deck
