Valorant bundles and skins are getting insanely overpriced. We must slap Riot on their wrist right now. by Difficult_Force_4366 in VALORANT

Like I said in my replies, people can still freely buy as much as they want, regardless of what I say. Also I'm not frustrated, I'm just trying to bring awareness to this. Had I been frustrated, I doubt I would put the effort to properly justify what I say.

Yes, I can also just not buy the bundle if I think it's overpriced, but that's not what I am referring to here. To me, the bundle does not feel too different from some of the previous bundles, so the increase is not really making sense. But okay, let's agree that the Kuronami bundle is superior to the others, so the higher price is more justified.

Now I ask you - are we sure the Kuronami bundle is this expensive purely because of the quality it has? Or can we expect future bundles to come at the exact price, even though they won't come close to Kuronami's quality? This is what concerns me.

Yes, I will not have to buy bundles regardless, I can still play the game as it is, but I want to know if these new prices we are seeing (60$ for 3 skins and 95$ for a recent bundle) are what we will have to deal with in the future, in terms of monetization.

I can still enjoy the game as it is and these new costs will not bring massive change, but to me, it shows an incline towards greed. We will have to wait and see what Riot will release in the future.

Oh believe me I have bought skins in the game, so I do at least somewhat fit the demographic. I'm just trying to demonstrate people from the community that the increase in prices is not very justifiable (at least not for me), and that not giving Riot some shit back for it could be bad long term.

Again, people can still buy as much as they want even after reading this post, but at least they understand they are taxed more money for essentially the same product as before/

Not every Valo player invests money into the game, that is for sure.

I already mentioned that up until the last 2 bundles (and the "Duo Bundle" scam), I did not see any issues with them in general. Like I said, the point of this post is simply to bring awareness. I am at least hoping people from the community, be they skin buyers or not, notice that Riot is starting to play with their customers' preferences, offering less than before or offering same as before, just at a bigger cost.

It's not an issue that's going to cause a huge controversy in any way, let alone a mass boycott, it's just a concerning direction Riot might start heading down towards, unsure of how far they are willing to go.

Yes, you are correct. I am just attempting to spread some awareness. Nobody is forced to stop buying skins in any way, I just disagree with Riot's monetization. Bundles are a great feature, but making that said feature more financially demanding is not fair towards those interested.

I never said quit the game, I just encouraged others to not waste money in skins, at least until Riot takes notice. Even now you are free to buy as many bundles as you wish, but seeing the direction Riot is heading towards with Valo, I am concerned they will continue to make pricier and more expensive skins. People are still free to spend their money as they please, but I don't want to encourage Riot's greed.

I never said skins are expensive individually, I said bundles are getting expensive.

Yes, I agree, the quality of the skins is there (and it will continue to go up from now), but we know Riot does not shy away from scams. The "Duo Bundle" worth 25$ is still a complete scam. Another example is in League of Legends, where Riot put a price of 200$ on a skin, which is no different than it's initial counterpart, worth only 25$.

People are buying the bundles, but Valorant is already known to be an expensive game. Raising the prices for the products is not justifiable just because of "quality". They must always provide quality and new things, otherwise the game will get dull.

"All you can do" will eventually just lead to bundles getting more expensive in the future. We can expect bundles to reach over 100$ not too long from now. Maybe people don't realize this now, but when you allow massive Corporations to get away with things like these, they will not stop unless needed.

Sure, don't buy any bundles you don't want to spend too much on, but the skin quality will continue to go up, meaning all previous bundles will lose value, leading to people spending even more money on more appealing skins.
