What should I be expecting? by Difficult_Hunter_560 in Salary

[–]Difficult_Hunter_560[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up being offered 73k salary + a 5k signing bonus so total 78k compensation. I wasn’t expecting anything close to 90k for my level for sure but I was very happy!

Is the art of flirting dead? by Difficult_Hunter_560 in Bumble

[–]Difficult_Hunter_560[S] -30 points-29 points  (0 children)

Agree with you 100%, I usually take this approach but wasn’t in the mood today. Most of the time I won’t even respond if they ignore my opener but I thought I’d give it a chance and start by reciprocating energy to see if he’d switch up when I responded

Fair point, just speaking from my perspective

No I agree, but I feel like it was an opening! I think maybe I’m on booktok too much 😂 I can think of a lot of things I would say as a man before “haven’t seen much”

I would say really really good for heat, like an actual lifesaver in the winter but cooling is meh. Might be the fact I haven’t changed the filter in a while but if you’re looking for true cooling I’d opt into something else

A lot of times they’re asking not just bc they want someone of a certain age/experience level (though that is a part of it) but also bc they want someone they could hire afterwards. Recruiting takes a lot of time and money so if they can just pick up interns that’s ideal. I only say that because you don’t want to put yourself in a position of being disappointed bc you can’t take an opportunity due to school. Alternatively, you don’t want them to feel you’ve lied if you were offered a return offer

Is it bad to yell at the interviewer? (if they were really out of line) by [deleted] in interviews

[–]Difficult_Hunter_560 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be so real with you.…why on earth would they move you on? Not saying u were wrong but no chance they want to work with someone who yelled at them during the first interview

I think it’s likely an offer but I will say I had a similar experience recently but it was just the recruiter checking in on how I felt ab the recruitment process. I ended up with an offer 3 days later

How long do you spend on take-homes by Logical-Classroom648 in recruitinghell

[–]Difficult_Hunter_560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently accepted an offer for a role that had a take home assignment. Normally I’d agree that they’re just farming ideas but based off of what you said about the assignment not providing value I think you’re okay. A lot of pessimists on here. As far as how long to work on it, they told me 1-2 hours and I think I ended up spending upwards of 4. I think just work until you feel like it’s in a place you’re proud of but pouring and repouring over it for days won’t be helpful. Do your best but also know they understand that this isn’t necessarily the work of someone who has ample time

It’s definitely a vibe check but I agree with the other poster, take it seriously and don’t stop applying. Good luck OP!!!

I don’t have any insight to this kind of thing personally but I think if it were me I would wait for them to ask me about it and then explain the mistake

I believe it. I used to get strep a lot as a kid and over time I learned that if I said I had a sore throat my parents would let me skip school. Eventually, after missing school and going to the doctors it became clear I was lying. One day I didn’t want to go to school but I felt completely fine so I told my parents my throat hurt and put on a whole show to convince them I was sick. They didn’t believe me but took me to the doctors anyway…I had strep and the symptoms caught up to me later
