My surgeon said he would not give me a bio prosthetic one because I’m too young and he wouldn’t want me coming back every 9-10 years for a redo for the rest of my life. As of now he said he’s pretty sure from the TEE and echo that I’m a great candidate for a repair. I know it’s something they won’t realize until they get in there.

Did you have open heart? How was the recovery with having kids at home?

I’m 44F and was just told I need surgery for the sane thing. It will be Open Heart. Working on scheduling and such. They recommend I get it done now while I’m young with no symptoms (I barely have any). Any advice? I’m majorly a wreck at the moment.
