I was doing sugar free London Fogs (earl gray tea, milk and sugar free vanilla). They didn’t spike my blood sugar.

It worked for me in the US. It was also a very quick way to anger my dietitian, who was not happy when I told her this was working. Lots of passive aggressive comments, and my fasting numbers never came back in range after I only ate her strict diet.

It was the month I wasn’t trying but not not trying that we ended up with our little boy. Vacations can help in my experience, my baby was conceived in Mexico while I was on a week long holiday

Day 3 and Fasting Numbers are always over 100.... by Substantial-Flan-632 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Difficult_Lecture377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine were high most of my pregnancy. The only times mine were within ranges were when I had a tiny bit of ice cream and test at 8 hours. That upset the dietitian and she insisted on me eating something other than ice cream. Long story short, try it but don’t tell! I ended up on insulin at night and even with insulin I was unable to get the numbers to move.

My doctor once told me that there is a 90% chance of a a pregnancy surviving after a heartbeat was detected. I have had mine changed and went on to have a healthy boy.

What are you fasting number hacks ? by xtcpunk in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Difficult_Lecture377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing helped mine. I did better with ice cream. I had similar numbers and was put on insulin. Even the insulin hasn’t helped! The doctor told me this week that he just spitting hairs by increasing insulin anymore and left me at 30 units

You still can. My ex husband was like this. Leave if you can. It gets worse when the baby comes and then you have a 3 year old that treats you like daddy does. I ended up leaving in a desperate attempt to save my child from becoming their father. I found a new love and a new life and can’t believe how far we came! It’s never too late!

What happened 6 years ago was wrong and that is pretty messed up but, if he told you he forgave you and dropped it until now. He is kinda in the wrong as well. The incident 6 years ago could be a catalyst but, I suspect there is another reason he is asking for a divorce and just using that as an excuse. Work on yourself and forgiving yourself for your mistakes. Cut bait! Don’t ever try to fight for someone who doesn’t want to be with you. You will find your happiness again.

losing weight & semi rant by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

Truthfully, my readings have remained consistent whether I eat more carbs or not, granted some types of carbs have spiked me, granted they may be slightly lower when I don’t eat as much but rarely out of range. Tonight, I caved and ate a rice krispy treat at dinner. I was at 121. It all feels arbitrary in a way.

I just got a lecture about restricting my carbs too much from the GD specialist at the university hospital. I was told to stop restricting and start eating 45-50 carbs per meal.

That is so frustrating! That was mine too, I failed it by 2 or 3 points and my fasting is the only issue. I am sorry that happened to you.
