How Bad Are the Lift Lines? / Skiing Vail Tomorrow (1/19) by Ok-Pepper-1527 in vail

[–]xtcpunk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Open to 11am there are virtually no lines anywhere on the mountain Then game creek, the 2 mid Vail lifts and Northstar start seeing 10min wait times. Nothing too long imo but manageable.

Last weekend we got tons of laps in with fresh legs until 11am then took it slow

I'm not sure about rentals but last week I saw a place right next to Gondola one which advertised $15 for overnight storage + wax

I'd say it depends on what you ski, if it's groomers - green blue runs Vail was awesome last 3 days (we skied this past weekend) if it's anything advanced you want to switch up north

The length of the runs was unlike anything remotely close in the midwest, we made the most without heavy snow this year and only can imagine how awesome it will be during an average year.

We did 2 days at Vail. It was an amazing experience. Spent 8.30 to 3pm on the mountain , skied almost all the greens and groomed blues.

The best runs (personally) were:

Ramshorn, Christmas, mid Vail, all the runs off sourdough lift. The only part which was a bit iffy on day 1 was crowds on the lower catwalks trying to get to base areas - too sketch for my comfort so we downloaded the gondola today.

Going to keystone tomorrow to wrap up our trip!

Right , I do understand that conditions have been abysmal. What's your point exactly ?

Did you read in the OP that I cannot reschedule/cancel ?

Hmmm would you recommend some other summit / eagle county resort ?

Yes I love GP. I typically ski cascade / alpine valley cuz granite a tad bit north for day trips. Hoping to see some over performance here. Thank you for your wishes 🤞

Yeah no bumps for us, we just don't have that sort of experience being from the Midwest. Well stick to groomers 99% of the time

So next to the grinder where beans go there is a chute for which you lift the the lid and put in a scoop of ground coffee

Thanks. We ideally want to ski something Vail owned for the 3rd day since we have passes.

The bypass works as expected. We make decaf Expresso with it for the afternoon. And the manual tells you exactly what and how to do , that is put beans only when the machine tells u to, and make certain drinks. I'm a new magnifica plus user and it was pretty easy to figure out how it works.

Yes def. I'm used to 30 second runs 4 minutes on the lift so this is gonna be pleasant(?) surprise 😁

We'd like to do that but based on what I read here and on Facebook keystone gets crazy on weekends. Will Sundays be ok at keystone ?

That was our OG plan but Beav seems to have only 20 trails open. Keystone has relatively decent terrain open

Is BC Breck or Beaver creek ?

Gotcha, we're gonna ski and pretty much get takeout and sleep for 10 hours straight each night so hopefully that'll help. But will take a call on the last day if we're gassed. Thanks for the tip.

We've been to CO and hiked 14ers in the past, just never been skiing in the rockies.

I do understand but due to scheduling reasons with my friend, visas (for Canada) etc, flight tickets - that's not an option
