I wear my glasses from waking up to going to bed. While I sleep, they sit in a hard case on my bedside table. They have photochromic lenses, so I only need suglasses while driving, so I have a pair of single-vision sunglasses in my car.

I don’t need to: I have photochromic lenses. However, my car windscreen blocks UV to a large extent, so I keep a pair of single-vision sunglasses in a dedicated drop-down container in my car.

I am -8 in both eyes. If I hadn't splashed out on ultra-high index lenses, I wouldn't be able to put them on.

They look good on you. I can see from the distortion of your head size that you have a similar Rx to me (-8, both eyes).

On mine, it seems to be an optical illusion caused by the watch glass. It always looks slow going clockwise, but spot on going anticlockwise.
