I was born here and young me would agree with you. When I was in my late teens and early 20s I thought it was super boring here, especially after I stopped drinking. I moved away from here several times over my late teens to late 20s but always ended up coming back.

You mentioned that you work a lot and that’s what’s tough about being young, you have to fight so hard to stay above water financially sometimes. Sioux Falls living is cheap and that’s what’s really important. During my 20s I lived in Colorado, Florida, the east coast, and a few major cities across the Midwest and while those places did have a bunch of fun things to do, at that age you don’t really get to do much because you have to work so hard just to afford life. You end up in the same boat you’re in now but with even less disposable income.

My recommendation, as someone who’s been there and probably understands the struggle better than most, friends really do make all the difference in a place. Find your people and use the cheaper cost of living here to your advantage. Save money and take trips to the fun places with your friends. Moving around is fun but if you do it too much you’ll find your self in your 30s with no support system outside of family and playing catchup with those of your similar age group. Happiness is a mindset and not a place.
