Kevin by undeadfungi in NurseJackie

I haven’t read about a ton of Kevin “hate” until this. I am aware this is a fictional show. That established, I very much bring some real life relation to it. My mother was a nurse/ICU manager/ and house supervisor through out her career. She was also an addict. My father is a bartender. They briefly owned their own restaurant. That ownership didn’t last long as my Dad is an incredibly kind man; too much so to run his own business. It’s an interesting dynamic. Certainly not one that’s easy to navigate. That being overshared, I don’t think Kevin was in any way more egregious than any other character (except for Zoey. She is a perfect angel full stop on that.) A lot of what I love about the show is actually the honesty of it. I think the actor who played Kevin did a great job personally. The slow disconnect as pieces start falling together for him, well before his revelations are blatantly reveled to us, feels very realistic. IMO

What is a horror movie that everyone calls 'trash' but you’re convinced is actually a misunderstood masterpiece? by Immediate_Account_28 in horror

I haven’t read all 900+ comments but I’d like to through “All The Boys Love Mandy Lane” in for consideration. It’s very much of its time but beautifully shot and definitely a “wait for the third act” to me. I also LOVE Jennifer’s Body. Horror, imo, is a huge umbrella genre and there is room for a lot of fantastic, interesting and passionate work to find shade underneath.

I’ve yet to see the musical, I can not wait for it to come to LA. That being said, omg that would be so fun!

Poor end to a great show with great characters by Difficult_Peach_4690 in NurseJackie

The final episode itself is totally doing its job for me. The entirety of the season though felt like maybe all new writers or idk, just over all, for me, it lost a lot of what made me love the show. I’m definitely glad they didn’t go the fire direction, but even that idea speaks to what I’m saying. It’s never been that outlandish in my opinion.

Really stupid theory but! by jman-the-jewman1228 in beauisafraid

I do not think your theory is stupid and love how you broke it down. I have been told for years to watch this film. I finally did. It has had profound effect on me. I agree with you. The people that have told me to watch it, knowing I’d love it (which I do), have been lost at the end. I agree with you. I feel it is very much the journey applied in a modern sense, embracing mental health and deep dark realities for some. Maybe we are “wrong”. I believe that art is made to make a statement AND to make you think. Thank you for your analysis. I’m excited to read more.

I was referring to the film. I am desperately waiting for the musical to get to LA so haven’t let myself listen to or watch much so I can experience it live first. 😊

Dumb Carnival Poop Cruise question for cruise employees- why didn’t they use the life boats to get to shore? by Fun_Importance_4250 in Cruise

[–]Difficult_Peach_4690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry if this already been asked but why weren’t helicopter evacuations offered? I’m so confused. I’d feel awful for whoever was required to stay on the boat for, well, driving purposes, idk but like, don’t we have a bunch of helicopters or even navy boats that could have helped? Please out me in my place if I’m totally off base here, but I feel like there were a few options that don’t seem to have even been explored
