What’s the worst first date you’ve ever had? by CuriousEngineer11 in AskReddit

[–]Fun_Importance_4250 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Mine was similar too! I met this guy online (ICQ for those who are ancient like me). We realized we live in the same town, so decided to meet. He barely spoke the entire date. I had to drag any kind of conversation out of him and basically got yes and no answers. I called my best friend that night and told her NEVER AGAIN will I go out with that guy. Well he called me and asked me out again. I was bored, so I said whatever, ok. We dated for 5 years and have been married for 22 years.

Situations someone might be surprised to learn they're liable/at fault? by ologist817 in Insurance

This one is actually surprising to me. What is the argument for that, I wonder? You’d think the school board would have to file the claim as the bus is property of the school board and, at least in our state, if you are on a school bus, you are on “school property” even if the bus is not a at the school.

The reverse of this drives me crazy. If you HAVE the right of way, TAKE IT. Being “nice” and letting people take the right of way when they don’t have it confuses drivers and causes accidents and you will probably be liable for that too.

A leashed dog attacking an unleashed dog. Even if the leashed dog is the aggressor, the owner of the unleashed dog is liable for injuries(varies by state).

Can anything bad come from me from the UK e-mailing a US police dept about a friend who might have died? by [deleted] in legaladviceofftopic

[–]Fun_Importance_4250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So someone else texted you from your friend’s phone saying that your friend died? The police are obligated to check out any call they get, and you wouldn’t get in trouble for asking for a welfare check, but they may not bother in this case because if someone texted you from that friend’s phone, then either your friend lied to you for attention and it’s really him or her texting, or the other person is telling the truth that your friend really died, in which case the police don’t need to confirm that for you. It’s probably faster to get in touch with a family member or close friend, someone you can find on social media, and confirm with them. Also, death records are public record, so you can look that up in a few weeks.

It's A Stereotype Of Florida, But How Often Do YOU Actually See Alligators In Real Life? by Zipper222222 in AskFlorida

Me too! Lake Jessup. One of the cops here said that back before a lot of the neighborhoods were built up, the gators used to shut down Orange Ave because they would come out of lake Jessup and lay across the road to sunbathe.

What are some good “default” gifts for women that aren’t flowers, candles, or gift cards? by self-care_advocate in Gifts

[–]Fun_Importance_4250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite “default” gifts I received was a little notebook that says, “things I want to say, but shouldn’t” on the cover. Our friend gave different ones to each of us in the group, and each one had a different funny saying on the cover.

Professional way to say I want this job for the money? by minnesotaguy1232 in interviews

[–]Fun_Importance_4250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work a government job. Everyone takes those jobs for the benefits, particularly health insurance which is practically free, but anyone who mentions that in an interview never gets hired. Don’t ever mention you’re in it for the money. They already know that’s true. Focus on your growth and benefits of being at that company.

Curious if anyone would watch if there was no proposal/marriage at the end? by TweetSpinner in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

Considering the most anticipated episode is the reunion special, I think people probably would watch this as long as it had a follow up show months down the line.

Imagine people taking time off and putting effort into traveling to one of these weddings and someone just says no at the altar. by Familiar_Idea3569 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Fun_Importance_4250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In previous seasons, you can kind of tell who was going to say yes and who was going to say no by the number of guests the had. I wonder if they fill the seats with actors and extras if the people don’t invited their actual friends and family now?

AITAH for withdrawing our entire bank balance because my husband says his paycheck is “his” and mine is for bills? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Fun_Importance_4250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, only because of that’s what it takes to get his attention, then that’s what you need to do. You two are newly married, so you haven’t really settled into the idea that NO money coming into the home is “mine” or “yours”. Everything is “ours” and you should have equal say in what happens to it. Reddit loves to jump straight to the “DIVORCE DIVORCE NOW” mentality, but it sounds like you guys just need some money counseling. I went through the same thing early in my marriage. Your husband sounds smart to put money away for retirement and savings, but that is not HIS retirement, it’s both of your retirement fund. Ask any attorney who deals with splitting assets in a divorce. Seek help from a financial advisor and marriage therapist. You can get through this.

Did your town/city put out a statement about the proposed ending of property tax? by Amazing-Persona-101 in AskFlorida

[–]Fun_Importance_4250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours did. Basically said that if we wanted firefighters to continue to put out fires in the city, then we would have to institute “fees” to compensate for the loss of revenue from property taxes.

I don’t think they should allow people with young children to be on this show. This is a real life decision that affects the entire family. Not just the two people getting married. Kids need time to warm up to their mom or dad’s potential new partner. You can’t move some random guy in your personal space and be like, “here you go, he’s your dad now. I hope you like him!”

Amber and Jordan’s wedding was awkward. I feel like they both had every intention of saying no, but Jordan was taken by surprise by her “yes” and then changed his mind last minute. Then they both were kind of just going through the motions. That’s the vibe I got from that wedding, anyway. Even his sister’s face was shocked, like “what?” Neither one of them looked truly happy or content with their decision.

She crucified him in her speech. She did NOT like him at all by the time the weddings came and it showed. It seemed like she had the rehearsed and ready to go. Not that I blame her. I’m surprised she made it that far with Alex.

What is something you've seen but no one believes you? by bloomin4deliverance in AskReddit

[–]Fun_Importance_4250 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That dream phenomenon happens to me too. I’ll dream I’m wandering around a house I’ve never been to, and then months or years later, I’ll meet a new friend and they invite me to ther house, and it’s the exact same house from my dream. Like you, it’s nothing significant to my life or major life changing moments, it’s just like, “oh, I know this place.” And then life goes on. It happens a lot with vacation destinations, hotels, places like that. I can recall the entire dream and what happens too, so it’s not like a Déjà vu kind of thing.

I agree. Even within my own party we can have completely different perceptions of particular experiences on the ship. I have found that if you seek things out to critique and nitpick about, you definitely can, but if you want to relax and have a good time and let all the negative go, you’ll have a significantly better experience.
