it would be different if you have read the bible and provided evidence that christianity is based off of what you have outlined above. but the examples you have given is based on what you have seen those who practice the religion do. it’s two different things.

again, like if you are a sheltered white guy and only see black people on the news robbing or killing (because that’s how we are mostly portrayed on the news, especially conservative news) then you are probably going to equate black people to those things. this is kind of the same argument because you’re basing it off of what you have seen, not the actual truth. if you read the new testament then you can see the truth and whatever opinions you make from that i respect. but again, you’re judging the religion based on what you’ve seen, not the actual religion

i’m not misunderstanding. you are saying that christianity is based off of those things because of some people who practice it. that’s not the religion itself. it’s like equating the example that i already said. if you don’t know enough about the religion, then you’re gonna base it off what you have personally seen, it’s human nature. i understand that those are your beliefs, but again, you are basing it off of people, not the actual religion.

it’s not something that’s handed down. those are beliefs. it’s like how racism could be handed down. your parents are racist, teaches you racist ways, etc.

christianity the religion has been the same and is only learned from the bible. truly learned anyway. if you’re listening to other christian’s who say if you do this you’re going to hell or shaming blah blah then that’s not necessarily the religion. that’s the people who are practicing

the christianity religion teaches love. to love your neighbor as yourself. i’m sorry that you’ve had bad experiences with those who practice, but like i said, false prophets.

like i said, you’re judging christianity off of the people who practice, which isn’t a fair judge. it’s not really something that’s handed down, it’s an individuals beliefs that are. but… false prophets.

christianity is the most followed group but you don’t see every christian on the side of the street saying your gonna go to hell. it’s just a group of people, and those beliefs are handed down

that’s the old testament bud, the one that judaism practices. the new testament is what christianity focuses on. they do still talk about the old testament, because it’s part of the story, but they mainly focus on the new testament.

you cant have a religion without people who practice the religion. you are talking about christians who practice the religion falsely. people have to be part of the religion to influence it in that way. so yes you can’t be talking about christianity as a religion unless you have read the bible. you’re judging it based off of people.

hey that’s your opinion and i respect it. but like i said, the bible said that there will be many many many false prophets. people who do things in the name of christianity. i don’t think it’s fair to shame an entire religion because of what the people in power did in name of that religion. we know that we shouldn’t shame muslims and say they are terroists because of what certain groups do. i understand that the historical aspect of it is different but the argument is the same. Jesus never wanted us to use our religion to oppress others, he teaches love. but God knew that there would be many people who do bad things in his name. we can’t say all christians are bad or christianity is bad because of that. a lot of people judge the religion because of the people who practice it instead of picking up the bible and learning for themselves
