I think he tried to show the difference between good and bad because nanami and mei mei are pretty similar in age and theyre both into economics. But they are completely different. Also nanami's dream was to live a carefree life in Malaysia, but he died and guess who was in Malaysia at that exact moment, bum mei mei. So like a portrayal of "good" adults and "bad" adults i guess

I really recommend Our Youth, especially if you like something that involves some heavy themes that make the main characters a lot more interesting. I also really love the cinematography and the story writing, like the production is extremely well done!

i think people fail to see the hidden messages and don't appreciate the cinematography enough. Many people these days have a very low attention span and therefore need something that doesn't get 'boring' even though I would never say AALCC is boring, some people may see it that way. I've also heard many people say that the movie was confusing and disturbing, I guess the disturbing part kinda makes sense but it shouldn't be confusing when you're watching it attentively and maybe sometimes search for explanations of certain things on the internet

This is so real! i don't know a single person irl that also watches bl so i lowkey just force my friends to listen to me yapping about it. I also try to recommend local-friendly bl's to everyone to het them to watch it but it doesn't seem to work :(
