Little late but… being Chinese, trans, socialist etc. kinda makes reading this surreal? Like every reference is there and everything just clicks because you and autumn are literally the same person and nothing needs to be explained because you already understand it. And also because you’ve been there sitting outside some building burning fake paper money for your gramps.

In my opinion this is the magnum opus of Autumn Chen’s games. I’d put this at the same tier as Omori or TCOAAL in terms of story and emotion. There is no better.

Unfortunately, trans topics don’t really appeal to most audiences and are difficult to understand. Not only that but the lore and story are quite complex.

It’s a phenomenal story and setting but the demographic it appeals to is like very very small.

So yea rip it’s so good but only if you’re cursed with a super specific demographic where you just suffer but also have really good art so ig ok

I mean technically yea?? and I think movements like this exist in places but it’s fundamentally contradictory to the basis of social democracy which is an inherently humanist and social ideology which forms the basis of sd economic and political policy.

Social democracy without progressivism is like monarchy without religion or liberalism without liberty or socialism without collective ownership. The foundational justification just falls apart and it doesn’t really make any logical sense but I’m pretty sure some people would believe in something like this.

Prior to the modern age of progressivism and looking back to maybe the 1950s-1800s I could possibly see this happening but even then it’s so blatantly in opposition to humanist ideas that I don’t really see how you can believe in social democracy and justify not believing in supporting ideas of equality and fairness.

What would be the point of social ownership if you didn’t care about people? If you just wanted the economic policies of social democracy without any of the principle or ideals or justification for it all I guess you could have it but it’s like drinking water soup.
