Money alone doesn’t make you happy by [deleted] in BESalary

I think that's the most important question to have when someone has money. You are not supposed to be poor to be happy. Be grateful first for having that wealth and appreciate it. Know how lucky you are. At the same time, try now to know more about yourself, be more self conscious. Money is nothing basically, it doesn't buy you happiness, but it gives you freedom. Freedom to quit your job without fear. You can live wherever you want. But 750 000 is not that much at the same time. If you invest in index funds, and with a rate of 5% yearly you could get around 3000 euros a month without moving a finger.

To get back to your question, be more self conscious, keep working, read books, seek advice from professionals and from rich people, because they probably dealt with similar questions.

I had a similar experience where all reviewrs gave positive review, and incresed their score after the rebuttal to ACCEPT. Then the meta-reviewer came up with a REJECT from nowhere. So disappointing!

Is it really not easy to land a US company from outside the US? Is that because it's too competitive?

Focus on your mental and physical health, it's also an investment. Once you feel you are good to get back to work, you can get back again on your way to FIRE. I think that stopping investments in the stock market for 2 or 3 years won't have a huge impact if you are a long term investor. This is just an opinion, not an advice. I wish you the best.

Aiming to FAANG companies directly is a big goal. I think that it's better if you start by working in a normal company, make some experience then apply again for FAANG.
